Hi everyone
I am on the formula to update the Date Due field and it cannot find SelectedDate as a field?
Solved! Go to Solution.
I referenced the Data Picker control, named 'dtpStartDate', and then select its' SelectedDate property.
I used DateAdd(dtpStartDate.SelectedDate,7,TimeUnit.Days) and its not working.
"SelectedDate" seems to be not referencing the datedue card.
I used DateAdd(Today(),7,TimeUnit.Days) and it works.
Can you show me how a Power FX formula would look like when using a date picker control, allowing the user to pick a dynamic due date?
Hi @mgreen91 ,
SelectedDate is a property of a Date Picker control, used to get the date that has been selected.
In the context of your question, you need to first reference the Data Picker control, named 'dtpStartDate', and then select its' SelectedDate property:
dtpStartDate.SelectedDate
This will work, providing the Date Picker control is exactly named 'dtpStartDate'.
I had the same issue. However, I found a workaround solution.
Please use DateAdd(Today(),7,TimeUnit.Days) instead of DateAdd(dtpStartDate.SelectedDate,7,TimeUnit.Days)
Please see attached screenshot (from my Development Environment), which confirms that the Date Loan Start and Date Due fields calculated appropriately.
Could you please mark this post as solved if this works for you 🙂
Hi @henryobison ,
Indeed this is the solution that is demonstrated in the video where the due date is always 7 days after the current date.
My response shows you how a Power FX formula would look like when using a date picker control, allowing the user to pick a dynamic due date.

Hi @HawkDowg
My workaround script is DateAdd(Today(),7,TimeUnit.Days)
You can copy it and paste it in the Power FX code field and I guarantee that it will work. You can see attached screenshot as evidence that it works.
"DateAdd(dtpStartDate.SelectedDate,7,TimeUnit.Days)" did not work me same as you noticed and it did not work others too.

If it helps anyone, I had the same issue, but it turned out I had labelled the text box above instead of the date picker. Once corrected I was able to use
