Add item to SharePoint list for each checkbox marked in separate SharePoint list

Hello!

I have two SharePoint lists:

One checklist, containing about 50 dropdown fields, and the same amount of text fields tied to the dropdown field.

One deviations list.

Whenever an operator goes through the checklist, they select either "Good" or "Deviation" in the dropdown field, and describe the issue in its description field.

At the end of the checklist, they press "Finished".

When the user presses "Finished", I want a PowerAutomate flow to go through the newly added item in the Checklist, and create a new item in the Deviations list for each dropdown that was marked as "Deviation". This item should contain the description field connected with the dropdown.

I have set up a flow with a "When an item is created or modified" trigger, but I am a little stomped on how to move forward without setting up a condition on each and every single dropdown field.

Well, you can initialize an Array type variable with the names of all your columns, and loop over that, but that isn't quite enough because each one has to tie to a specific text col too. So, I guess you could make your array be of JSON strings so for each item you pass the bool col name, the text col name, and whatever other elements you might need, then parse the json and use the element names as strings inside your expressions. It would be a bit clunky, but it would work.

Since your first list has both Choice and Text fields that aren't technically "tied" together. There would be no way of knowing which text field is associated to which Choice field.

I would personally say your best bet is to create a Form using MS Forms to handle the user inputs, and then use PA to add those items into the second list.

You're right, there is no way of actually knowing which text field is associated with the specific choice field, which makes it a bit difficult. I have a feeling I just have to set a world record in condition blocks, as it is a customer wanting help with his SharePoint app.

That would probably work, but I feel like it will be clunky no matter what I end up doing, as it is a clunky setup to begin with. Thank you for your suggestion, I'll fiddle around and see if I can find a not so clunky solution.
