Approvals Responses reports based on a null condition

Hello everyone,

Recently, I have created a flow that consists of many approvals and for each approval actions, I have set a timeout for testing (2m), and send an email action that will display all the responses of the approvals in an HTML table.

Below each approval action, I have initialized an array variable and an apply to each action based on the approval response, inside the apply to each action I have a compose action where the responder name is mapped, another compose action to get the outcome of the approver and set variable action where the compose actions are mapped to display them in the HTML table.

What I want to achieve is the following:
If the response was equal to null for an approver, I want to display in the HTML table that "No answer for this approver name", else if it's not null it will fill the other data mentioned in the apply to each action.

In the flow result, I will mention in the screenshot below, the HTML table didn't print the row because it's null so I want to print "No answer for this approver name"  instead of nothing.

What I should use actions to achieve the following scenario mentioned above?

Can please someone provide an example and explain it in detail?

Hi @Julien2 

You could check the HTML output is null or not. Add an IF Condition to check whether it's empty or not. See below

The expression used above is as follows:

if(empty(variables('FullName')),variables('Name'),variables('FullName'))

Here I am checking whether FullName is empty then use the Name.

You could do the similar technique in your Send Email where you currently mapping the output.

Whether the Html table is empty depends on whether the array variable is an empty array.

And the value configured in the body is actually a string. You can initialize a string variable first.

Then, under each HTML table action, determine whether the corresponding array variable is an empty array. If it is, then the output of the Html table action is not added to the string variable. If so, append it and add the appropriate HTML tag.

Finally, configure the string variable in the Body.
