Converting Sharepoint Excel file to pdf then outlook email

Evening, 

Can anyone show a flow for converting a Excel file on Sharepoint to PDF, then Sending via outlook email. 

The original Intention was to send the Excel file but when it sends it keeps saying the file is corrupt, hoping converting to PDF will solve this.

I don’t think it will solve your file corruption, but OneDrive for Business has the convert to pdf action. It should be able to create the PDF and then you can reference that file in an email by using the Outlook connector.

Getting this error message, this is why i thought PDF may prevent it.

@Scottcas1 I would recommend using the Get file metadata action instead of the Get file properties action—as you can point to a file instead of having to know what the ID of the file is.

In the Get file content using path action, for the File Path you can use the Path dynamic content from the action above.

In the Attachments Name field, insert the Name dynamic content from the Get file metadata action.

In the Attachments Content field, insert the File Content dynamic content from the Get file content using path action. 

How do you plan on triggering this flow each time? Manually? Or do you plan to trigger it from selecting a file?

To convert a SharePoint Excel to PDF, you have two options.

1) Encodian's Convert Excel action

Use the SharePoint connector to get the file content of the Excel file, pass this to the Encodian connector to convert to PDF and then email the PDF as an attachment.

The advantages of this option is that you do not have to create a file and then subsequently delete it in OneDrive i.e. you can work with SharePoint only. It also gives you lots of configurability if required e.g. targeting specific worksheets, format of PDF Excel output, incl hidden tabs etc

2) OneDrive's Convert file action

The OneDrive can convert xlsx to PDF. You need to get the file content from SharePoint as above, create the file in OneDrive, convert it to PDF and create that PDF file in SharePoint as well as delete the copied file in OneDrive.

There's no configurability so you need to check the format of your Excel and see if the PDF output works. You may be able to use print areas to help too.
