Creating Excel File With Data From Another Excel File

Hello,
I'm working on a flow to create.
The main idea in this flow is copying excel content and paste to another excel template file. When I researched I have seen that there is no such a specialty in the power automate flows. So, I'm looking a workaround if it's possible.
I want to give the details of the flow steps below:

1)An email is received from a specific user group.
2)Excel email attachment is read and saved to onedrive.
3)Content of excel attachment is copied and pasted to another excel template file in onedrive again.
4)Some conditions are controlled in the new excel file and if they're provided then new values are created in the new excel files some rows. (The columns of these newly created rows are already exist)
5)Then this new template is send to a specific users in specific times.

I have found some workarounds such as getting row and insert into another file but they works for only specific excel files. Name of my excel files changes always. That's why I cannot define a specific excel table name in my flow.

Is there anybody to help me about this case? If you need more details you can ask me.
Thanks.

Hi @Anonymous,

Before adding a row into a table, you could add a condition to determine that row's ColumnA and ColumnB if already has row already exists in the Excel table, if yes, go to No branch and do nothing. Steps as below:

1. initialize an integer variable named RowExists, set it to 0. Then get all rows in Excel file 1 and Excel file 2:

 2. Create two-level Apply to each action to check each row in Excel table 1 if already exists in Excel file 2:

 3. if it is, set the RowExists to 1.

 4. Create second condition to determine the RowExists if equals 0, if it is, means there is no duplicate row exists in Excel table 2, then add the row into excel table 2.

 5. Finally, set the RowExists to 0 for the next row.

Hi @Anonymous,

You could following these steps to store the Excel file attachment into OneDrive:

1. Use condition action to determine the file extension if it is ".xlsx", "xls", ".XLSX" or "XLS";

2. Then use the Get attahment action to get the content bytes of the attachment;

3. Then use the Create file action to store the file into the destinate folder in OneDrive;

Dear @v-litu-msft  thanks for your answer but actually my problem is more complex. During my researches, I have found that I have to use expressions to get a file name.

Because every attachment in the email will be in different name and I have to process any excel file with any name. This means I have to build a flow generic.

Now I'm trying to get unspecified file name from onedrive folder with expressions but I'm not good at this situation. I could not do anything.

Hi @Anonymous,

OK, it seems you have submitted another same topic post, please follow one. I have updated that post, please contact us if you have any question.

@v-litu-msftHello,

I have another problem with this flow. I could get the rows and added to another excel file. But now, there is another problem. I'm testing the flow for separate excel files. Flow uploads files to onedrive correctly and merges excel file content with an excel file. But there are duplicate records for before insert end of the every flow running. Such as my first file has two records. Then I'm uploading another file, records of first files are written into the common excel again. You can find below screenshots:

is there any way to prevent this?

Thanks.
