Creating a list of Azure AD users as a CSV/Excel file

Hi,

I am looking for some guidance on how to create a flow which will create a CSV/Excel file and then populate it with our AD users.

The goal is that this will be used as a data source in another system.

I see the flow start by creating the file and columns and then populating the data but I can only get as far as creating the file.

Has anyone created anything similar that they can share or tips on my sequencing or the connectors?

Thanks

Here is one way to generate a list of the users with the Search for users action. It will save a list of users to OneDrive as a CSV file. You can select different user properties to include in the Select action:

[Update]: You now need to set "Is search term required" to NO:

Thanks Ellis - prompt and exactly what I needed.

Why I am getting 0 matches or no list at all...?

Hey,

can you post a snapshot of your flow so that we can check its configuration?

Hi, I wanted to test it but doesn't work when I follow your post...

For the Search for users (V2) action, you now need to set "Is search term required" to NO for this work:

Oh great! Seems it is functioning! BUT, i got only 1000 rows 😕 is there a possibility to get all Users? Like 2k+?

Hey,

When the flow is executing (connector) what step is the error occurring?

I'm taking a stab in the dark but I'd check which output you have selected for the "Create File" connector as they'd have the same name but are pulling from the different outputs, you need to make sure its pulling from the Create CSV connector.

This is okay, I managed it already before, but my output is limited up to 1000 rows only!

@M1rzA_V You can try setting Top to 3000 for example:

Hmm it still gives me 1000 rows. Can it be due to threshold? I also tried to raise to 5000 but still nothing...

Hey,

A similar article has suggested increasing the pagination threshold.

Hey,

You saved me man! Thanks a lot! I managed to get all users!! But one question, in your step where you define table, is there a possibility to get all User Infos instead to define table and columns????

Hey,

I know its annoying but this is needed to create the columns.

I did look into it a bit further and the closest I could find was to switch the Map to text mode

chatag05_1-1678098844510.png

And try to find an expression to export all fields - I haven't found one though.

chatag05_0-1678098820410.png

No problem, it is actually seldom job to populate new columns, this is fairly enough with export.

Thanks once more!

The last question, just realized, do you maybe know if it is possible to include Licenses (Products) that users are using? aka. Power BI or MS Packs and so on..

Hey,

I don't know how to include that in the export we have been talking about but approach this using the O365 Admin centre, which you may or may not have access to.

From active users you can see what licences are allocated and then export this and any other columns you have added to this view - then use filter to single out who you want or merge both datasets in PowerBI, it all depends on what your end goal is.

Exactly, I am familiar with it and I am doing it manually. Thats a reason I thought I can get also Licences same as Users with Automate.

But fine, you helped me anyways. Thx
