Display a Planner status in SharePoint online list

Hi there, I am using a SharePoint online list as a Project portfolio overview. Each project has a link to its own planner. I would like to display the Status of the Project in Planner in the SharePoint list so it get's updated automatically. Basically like a progress bar / percent complete indicator. Is that possible? TIA!

If you know the exact task ID of each task in your specific planner, then you might be using "Get a task".

There you get all your percentage information. Please note: planner only provides 0, 50, 100.

 

If you have these information, you need to summup all percentage and divide by task count.

Here I need to be honest I'm out, that's right now above my knowledge.

 


You mentioned, that your projects got a link to planner. Where are your projects stored in?

Do the precentage information of planner go back into your projects?

Thanks for your reply. Project tasks are stored in planner. Eahch project has its own planner. The MS planner has a status feature "xyz tasks left". I would like to convert that status into a percentage value that I can display as a progress bar in a SharePoint list. The list includes all projects as an overview (portfolio of projects).

thanks for clarification, what you're searching for.

After checking again the built in connections to Planner and using the REST-API, I have to say, that I wasn't able to find what you need. I know that feature of Planner but it seems to be some measurement within Planner with not stored data.

If that is the case, and nobody else find a solution, it brings me back to my idea of getting all tasks "List Tasks".
Summup all percentage of each task and divide it by task ID count.

BUT:
To be able to have every planner in that flow, please note, that you first need to know all Group ID's and Planner ID's to be able to run it over every Planner.

 

That means you would need another flow to create the specific planner and store the group ID and Planner ID within your SharePoint List Item. For the already existing ones, you should manually transfer these information.

 

If you have every thing stored you can run a "Get all items" action and use the group ID and Planner ID as dynamic content and if there's anytime some new project, you have that one in your flow you want to build right now.

Thank you for your reply. I am afraid my level of knowledge is below what I need to execute your suggestion and the problem I am trying to solve is not as important as the time it would take me to solve it. For now I just added a simple progress bar to my list. It is just an estimate to be entered and updated by the user. But I will keep this idea in my mind and maybe when I am a bit more advanced I will give it a try. Thank you so much again!

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!    This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
