Display specific column value first

Hi all,

I have a flow which gets value from SharePoint. I have assigned a variable called Project Array (Array variable) which gets all values based on the condition Overall RAG (a column in SharePoint list.) When RAG color is Red/Amber it gets all the project and their respective values and append it to the HTML table. It is displaying all the values in the HTML Table properly. 

Now my scenario is it must display all the projects whose Overall RAG is red first followed by the Amber projects.

Is it possible to display the red color first. Any help/suggestion on this.

Hi @Uthhra 

You can add a new property "rank" in the input array and assign numeric values 1 for red and 2 for amber This can be achieved by using Select action. Apply sort() function to sort output of select action and pass it to "Apply to each" action and create an html table.

You may share the sample of input array. I will share you the steps to rearrange the elements in that array.

I assume your flow uses a Get items action. You could add number field called SortOrder and populate it with 1 for red items, 2 for amber and 3 as a default for everything else. Then you can use the field in the sort order of the Get items action.

If we use "Sort" will not sort the entire elements in the html table? I need only the column "Overall RAG" to be sorted.

Yes I am using Get items (since I have 5 lists I have used 5 get items. 

And combining all the lists using "Project Array" variable (which is a combination of 5 different SharePoint list)). I have given union of all the list in Compose 3 and the output of Compose 3 I have given to the "Project Array" variable.

Hi @Uthhra 

One solution is sort object array by 'OverallRAG' property and then reverse it so that 'Red' category comes first. You need to just add an expression in "Apply to each" action as shown below:

reverse(sort(variables('Project Array'),'OverallRAG'))

Within loop, you can create an html table as you are doing it.
