Document Approval Flow - Bad Gateway Error

Hi there, 

I am creating a basic document approval flow, that has three different approvers. 

So far, after checking many posts, I dont seem to see a similar issue to what I am having. Currently my flow works up to the point where the first approver responds. What isnt working, is anything after that. When the approver rejects, the flow is unable to update the Approval Status to "Reject", I get a "BadeGateway" error. When the approver approves, the flow seems to think it has been rejected, and comes up with the same error. 

Additionally, on occasion when I test, I get two identical flow emails asking for approval, when i have only uploaded a single document. AND the flow isnt allowing me to approve from email ("An error occurred. Please try again later."), I have to open up Flow, go to My Approvals, then select an option. 

Any ideas?

I believe that your issue with the first approval ist that you are evaulating each response - you likely want to reference the Outcome from Dynamic properties rather than the individual responses.  The Outcome tells you the overall outcome of the approval - approve or reject.

You are going into a loop because you reference the individual responses - just reference Outcome and you won't need the loop.

Could you share some more details on the error message?

I guess that the error occurs on step “Set Approval status to Reject”. From the screenshot, you’ve entered a custom value Rejected in the Action field.

I am afraid that Rejected is not a valid value for the column “Approval status”, which requires value “Approve”, “Reject” and “Pending”.

Instead of entering a manual value, please select Reject from the dropdown then try again.

About the issue “when the approver approves, the flow seems to think it has been rejected”. Do you have multiple approvers? If so, when one of them rejected the request, the result will be Reject.

About error message “An error occurred. Please try again later”. Are you using Outlook client or Outlook Web?

When submitting a request on Outlook, both Client and Web, no error message occurs. Please take another try to see if it works for you now.

Further, I have set up a simple flow likes below for testing, which is working properly.

I am unsure of what you meant by "reference the Outcome from Dynamic properties rather than the individual responses", but what I did change was I made it based on "First to respond" and that seemed to fix it.

I did change it to "first to respond" and I altered from "rejected" to Reject and it appears to be working.

What still is not working is approvals from Outlook. I am on the Outlook Desktop Application, and from multiple user profiles, the approve/reject function isnt working. They all have to go onto their browser, navigate to Flow, and Approvals and respond from the webpage.

It seems to go to the next level of approver now, but it cant get to the final.

If i approve, it goes to the next person. BUT regardless of whether or not she approves or rejects, the flow rejects and ends. The third person never gets the flow.

Hi @NetworkAdmin ,

Not all the Outlook Client versions support actional message of approval email. Please suggest users to update their Outlook Client version to the latest one and try again.
