Encrypt credentials using gateway public key

Hello all,

I am currently working on creating data source gateway connection using Rest API in Power Automate. Based on this article, it says that I need to encrypt the data source credentials using the gateway public key. They also provide PowerShell scripts in the article for the encryption. 

I already retrieved the gateway public key, but right now I am stuck on encrypting the credentials. Is there any way to solve this?

So the steps to create a new datasource are (based on this)

1. Retrieve gateway ID and public key.

2. Build credentials details.

3. Build the request body.

4. Then call the API.

To build the credential details, I must build the credentials string (my credential type is Basic) and encrypt it. In the article, it used AsymmetricKeyEncryptor() to encrypt the credentials. My question is, how can I implement the 'encrypt the credentials' step in Power Automate?

Here is a good guide for Encryption in Power Automate.

So based on what it says to use, you cannot,  I do not believe you can, But what they are asking for is actually a Power BI function. You could probably write a connector(custom) to call the Power BI function and send it the data and get back the encrypted data.

But I would instead, look at if its possible to use one of the AES versions listed in the document I gave you because its a no code required solution.

The other option would be to Store this already encrypted in Azure KeyVault and retrieve it at run time.
