Hi @Anonymous

Can you please share a screenshot of the flow and a screenshot of the error? Having a look at that will give us a better idea of what the error might be and we will be able to better assist you that way.

I am guessing this error is popping because the excel connector is unable to find an element. But need to see th screenshot to be sure.

Can you confirm that, in the excel action, you are using the folder icon to select the excel file and dropdowns to select the table/ worksheet and not manually entring any custom values in those ? (this might be a cause of the error too)!

Hope this Helps!

Dear Super User,

First of all, thank you for your prompt answer.

Thing is that I am trying to build a flow using Excel (for business) [as you can see in screenshot above]. The problem is that once the file is selected (from the dropdown menu), microsoft flow is unable to identify the tables that have been named in the excel file. The field table is automatically filled with a table reference that is in Hexadecimal code (find picture2 below)Captura2.PNG

Truth is that before I used to work with a different version of the file and for some reason I had to create a copy with a different name (version (3) for instance). I was having issues updating the fields in the new Excel sheet and removed the two previous versions and linked flows to the (3)_new version.I am wondering if there is a constraint to access the excel file that is not allowing flow to access to the inner data of the excel file...could it be the issue?

I would appreciate any of your insights and potential ways of solving this issue.

Thank you in advance.

Best,

Pedro

Hi @Anonymous

Can you delete this action,  save the flow and refresh and create a new action (the same one?). Can you check in the xcel sheet what is the name of the table?

The refresh should help as it might take flow to the cached file and not update the table name.

Hope this Helps!

Hi again Super User,

Checked the excel file and all the tables have their name assigned. Microsoft Flow should be able to recognize the name of the tables as it did with the previous versions...

Tried to create a new flow from scratch and got the same issue:

Captura3.PNG

According to Flow, the file doesn't contain any table with name...the file, however, does include names for all the tables (see one of the examples below):

Captura4.PNG

Despite all the tables are named, no one is recognized in the Moicrosoft Flow platform...all the former versions of this file shared the same names for the tables and never ran into a similar issue.

The Table is stored in the specified folder since Microsoft Flow is able to find the Excel file but doesn't seem able to access the information it has on it....

Thank you again for your support...

Best,

Pedro

HI @Anonymous

Did you try deleting the current connection to excel and create a new one? Also, can you please create a new excel in your one drive and create a table in it and check if you are able to access that?

Hi Super User,

Already tried this.

Could it be a technical issue? Programming related?

Thank you in advance.

Best,

Pedro

Hi Super User,

I just realized that the Excel file I am working with is full of formulas between the columns...could it be a reason for the malfunction of the Microsoft Flow's table recognition? Could it be that Flow can only work with a limited amount of formulas?

I copied the values of the table to a new file (removing all the formulas) and flow recognized the table as such.

Is it a software limitation?

I do really need to have the table with all the formulas set since the file autoupdates itself with the information received from the emails.

Thank you in advance.

Best,

Pedro

Hi @Anonymous

That might be a limitation on the connector. You can find more details on the excel connector with one drive here:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/excelonline/

There are certain limitations on the files/tables/rows access etc. So that might be a reason why the table is not popping up.

Hope this Helps!

Hi @Anonymous ,

What are the functions in the Excel table?

Are there any special formats in the file?

I have an Excel table which contains functions, sub and mul, however, the table name could be selected from Flow without any issue.
