Expression in email is not showing value.

I'm working on a automated email where in the first steps a unique email needs to be identified, after that it needs to collect and create the corresponding data and put it in a table. so far so good. Except for some reason if i create a new "select" action for selecting the variables in my email, it's not getting in the actual email. the output looks good. but in my email it keep showing as blank.

Hi @Tim19943,

In that case you could place another apply to each loop directly after the Select 3 action. This way you can send an email per account.

Within that nested apply to each action you can loop through each account (use the body of the Select_3). Move that send an email action within that apply to each. This way you can send an e-mail per account and use the current item in the body. That current item will be one account.

Hi @Tim19943,

What are you using in the Select an output from previous steps field in the Apply to each action?

I see the number of items in the apply to each is 2. However, in your screenshot I already see 3 accounts in the outputs of your Select action.

It looks like the account does not exist in whatever you are using in that field.

You can also check this by using an expression without a ? character. If it does not exist you would or if the value is empty you would get an error about it with the expression below:

items('Apply_to_each')['Account']

thank you for your response:)

The "select 2" is used to create a table:

Tim19943_0-1692281300175.png

i've tried to use this expression

items('Apply_to_each')['Account']

directly from the email(without select action) but in that case it gives the error:

Send_an_email_(V2)_2' inputs at line '0' and column '0': 'The template language expression 'items('Apply_to_each')['Account']' cannot be evaluated because property 'Account' doesn't exist, available properties are 'Mail'.

Hi @Tim19943,

Thanks for your reply. That new error confirms my thoughts that the Account property is not available in the array you are using for the Apply to each loop.

Btw, earlier I talked about a different field to check. Apologies if that was not clear. I was talking about a field of the Apply to Each action itself and not about a Select action within the Apply to each action.

Can you share what is used in the field below of your Apply to each action? Below is an example screenshot of the field I was referring to. Hopefully, that clarifies what I was asking about.

Sorry I'm relatively new to this.

Hi @Tim19943,

You could retrieve the account details from the the outputs of the Filter Array action. Do you want to join all accounts into one string or are you sending an e-mail for each separate account?

In case of the first scenario you can use a Select action to only retrieve the account values. Make sure you switch the Map field to text mode (single column).

After that you can use a join expression in the body of your email.

Below is an example

join(body('Select_3'), ', ')

i think this could work. still i'm not sure what i'm doing.... it somehow managed to give a value now, but it gives all available accounts. we would like that it only shows the one account where it is applicable for.

@abm my flow is based on your youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwMo79HFvtg which was very helpfull.
my only problem is that i want to refer to values in my excel(source) in the apply to each loop. but how can i do this? because the loops input is the output of the compose to get unique emails. your help is much appreciated.

@abm please ingore this post. I'll start a new one if needed
