Filter query using excel formula result

Hello to all of you,

I am building a flow with outlook, excel online business and salesforce. 

There is only a problem on one step : in the filter query for salesforce (see the image), I use mail trouvé (mail found) which is the result of a formula in excel. 

When I launch the flow, it indicates it only used email eq ''. The system was not able to read the result of the formula. 

When I check the result of the formula, it is good.

Is there somering to add in my filter query to be able to read the result. 

If I manually put in the filter query: email eq 'blablabla@gmail.com' (the result of the formula) for example, all the flow works perfectly.

Try adding a compose action before the Get record action and set it to the Mail trouve value.  Then reference the compose action in the filter.  If it works, then great.  If not, take a look at the value of the compose action - is it what you expected?

Hi there.  Before I try testing this out, maybe try this:

• Before your SalesForce "Get records" step, add a Compose action.  
• In that compose action, put the dynamic value from Excel "mail trouvé"
• Then in your OData query, use the output from your compose in the formula step instead.

At the very least, this will give you an easy way to see what value is being passed from Excel.

Thank you to both of you ! 😃

- I have just added the compose action with mail trouvé.

- After that I used the outputs from compose in get records (salesforce)

I added a picture about my excel file (you can see like that I have a formula which is working.

Result : (last picture) the filter query is still = email eq '' 

Another idea?

So, in this instance...(at least for me) the Compose part wasn't so much a 'solution' as much as a troubleshooting tool.

I've been researching to find similar issues, and so far the best solution involves having Power Automate do the 'heavy lifting' rather than Excel.  Meaning:  Build formulas in PA to do the same thing your MID() function is doing in Excel.  

That direction is a bit more cumbersome for a new user.  Not "impossible", just not easily communicated.  I'll spend some time duplicating the issue today to see if I can find a thing that works.

Can I ask how the data gets into Excel?  Is it possible to get it directly from that step?

Hello it is resolved. I managed to get the results for my formulas. 
I used "List rows present in table".
