Hey guys!
I need a little help. Do you know why, when I use the script directly in Excel, the image is generated as shown in the example below, with the decorative logo
And when I run the flow, is it generated this way, without the decorative logo?
What should I do so that when running the flow, the logo remains in the report?
Thanks in advance!

Sorry for the late response. Yes, I was able to repro the issue now. Here are a few observations:
* The image has to be placed in a cell for the script to render properly when running in the desktop Excel.
* When running the same script against the same workbook in Excel for the Web (browser) or in Power Automate, the placed image would fail to render.
I'll need to double check with the team that owns that API, but It does feel to me like a feature gap/limitation.
Can you tell a bit more about how you are going to use the extracted image? Sending them through an email? If yes, one possible solution is probably to extract and return both the table image and the logo image separately (so two images) and compose them into the email body as HTML. You may need to layout the two images in a certain way to match the original layout in the worksheet. I know this doesn't sound like a very good solution but unfortunately, I'm not sure if there is a better way to work around it at the moment... 😓
BTW, to extract the image of the logo, you will have to take the image out of the cell ("Place over Cells" vs. "Place in Cell". Then you can use APIs like worksheet.getShape("Picture 2").getImageAsBase64(ExcelScript.PictureFormat.png) to extract the logo image.
@Yutao
I separated the script into two parts/flows, to study and learn more. Having said that, below is the script in which I create the image and run an flow.
function main(workbook: ExcelScript.Workbook) {
//Declare Worksheet
const firstWorksheet = workbook.getWorksheet("Auto Test");
const table = firstWorksheet.getRange("A1:F17")
// Create image
const tableImage = table.getImage();
// Add the image to a worksheet
let imgShape = firstWorksheet.addImage(tableImage);
imgShape.setName("Relatório");
// Test to delete the image
//imgShape.delete();
}
Thanks for your time!
@Yutao They are only involved decoratively. These are images with a transparent background and are not fixed directly to the cell. I've also tried, using the IMAGE formula and it also doesn't work when I run the script through flow.
The flow:
Just making sure I fully understand your scenario -
So you have a table and two decorative logo images on the worksheet. You write some script code that you want to generate an image out of that table then put that table image onto the same worksheet. Now when you run this script directly inside Excel, the inserted table image won't cover the two logo images - I assume this is what you want, right? But when running the same script in Power Automate, the table image covers the logos, which is not what you want.
Am I understanding correctly? Is it that you want the inserted table image won't cover the two logo images?
@Yutao Yes, something like that.
The desired result is when I run the same script in flow/PA, the image created by the flow/PA contains the decorative logo (like a screenshot). As in the example below. However, this does not currently happen.
This part is correct:
"...So you have a table and two decorative logo images on the worksheet. You write some script code that you want to generate an image out of that table then put that table image onto the same worksheet. ..."
This part is not correct:
"Now when you run this script directly inside Excel, the inserted table image won't cover the two logo images - I assume this is what you want, right? But when running the same script in Power Automate, the table image covers the logos , which is not what you want."
It's not about covering the decorative logos. It's about generating the image in FLOW/PA with the decorative logos correctly.
When I run the script directly in Excel, the image is generated with the decorative logo, which is correct, but, when I run the same script through FLOW/PA the image is created without the decorative logo. Only the table image is created. What is wrong.
Please let me know if I expressed myself correctly.
Thank you for your time and attention.
Thanks for sharing the details!
It's possible this is due to some discrepancy between Excel and Power Automate when running a script. There are already some other known limitations for the `range.getImage()` API when running the script in Power Automate. So I'd like to find out if the embedded image in your case might be another limitation that we need to address. But first I'll need to repro the issue on my end. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to repro it yet so far.
A few clarifying questions:
* Do you remember how the two logo images were added to the worksheet?
* By saying run the script directly in Excel, were your referring to the Excel Desktop app or Excel for the Web?
Q. * Do you remember how the two logo images were added to the worksheet?
A. Yes, I used three ways to test if any would work.
1. Using the path -> Insert -> Images etc.
2. Just copy and paste the images into the spreadsheet.
3. Using the IMAGE formula.
Q. * By saying run the script directly in Excel, were your referring to the Excel Desktop app or Excel for the Web?

@Yutao ,
Q. Can you tell a bit more about how you are going to use the extracted image? Sending them through an email? A. Yes! But...
As at the moment there is no solution yet, I will use the image generated from the table.
Thank you for your patience and answers.
