How to Edit my Flow so that it Doesn't Add New Item in SharePoint List - I Need it to Just Update the Record in One Column

Hello! I have an interesting question and am hoping that someone might be able to help me! I am working on creating a Form in PowerApps that includes a Pen Input/Signature. I have successfully been able to use Flow to save that image to a SharePoint Library. I need the images to somehow be linked to my SharePoint List (where all of the other form data is kept), so that I can re-display those signatures in a display form within the app. I was also able to successfully build a Flow where it places a url to the image in my SharePoint List. The only issue is that when it adds the link, it creates it's own new/separate record from the rest of the information collected with the rest of the form. Is there a way that I can build a Flow that will grab the image created in my SharePoint Library and then add the URL to the SharePoint List in the column for the record just filled out? I will attach some photos below to show what I mean in my SharePoint List, as well as a photo of what I have built out in Flow. I tried to do things like "Update Item", etc. in Flow, but nothing has worked for me quite yet. It's probably something super obvious or easy, but I just haven't figured it out quite yet. Thank you so much for any and all help! It's much appreciated!!

This is an example of the SharePoint List Records. All of the other information collected from the Form is in ID number 89, but it adds the link to ID number 90. Is there a way to get Flow to add it to 89 instead?

Here's my Flow so far:

Thank you!!!!!

Use the Update Item action instead of the Create Item action if you want to update an existing item. Just use the ID you want to update (in this case it would be #89)

Hi @Pstork1! Thank you so much for being willing to help me!! Unfortunately, when I do that, I get some errors. It also doesn't add a link to the image in my SharePoint list at all! What am I doing wrong? I will attach a photo of my Flow below! Thank you so much again!!

Can you provide the errors you are getting?  Also, are you creating the item in the same flow where you are updating it?

Hi @Pstork1!! Thank you so much, I am so sorry for the slight delay in getting back to you! I attached the error that I am receiving below! I was trying to create the file and update it in the SharePoint list in the same Flow. Should I create two separate Flows? One where it creates the image file in my SharePoint Library, and then one where it adds/updates it to the SharePoint list? Thank you SO very much! You are awesome.

I think the problem is that you are creating a File and then using Update Item.  Files are in Libraries and Items are in Lists.  They use different actions.  Instead of Update Item you should be using 'Update File Properties'

Hi @Pstork1! That makes sense, but my only question is that I am trying to create a Flow so that when a new file (signature image) is created in my SharePoint Library, that it then copies a url of the image to a column in my SharePoint list. Is there a better way to do something like that? I've tried to have the image be copied into the library, as well as add an attachment, but neither of those have worked for me. My initial Flow does bring the url of the image over into my SharePoint list, but instead of adding the url to the record just added (through a PowerApps form - which is where it collects the signature as well), it creates a whole new record.

That should be doable in a single flow.  The biggest problem would be figuring out what the ID of the SharePoint item is that you want to update with the URL.  The metadata you will have is all about the file and you will need the metadata of the list item to update it.

@Pstork1 Ahhhhhh, that makes a lot of sense!! Thank you! Do you have any recommendations on how to go about doing that? I've tried to add a FormID column, in my SharePoint List, and then created a FormID lookup column in my SharePoint library that points to the FormID column in my SharePoint list, but couldn't figure out how to make that work properly?

The problem is that you won't have access to that when you upload the file.  You'll need something about the file that you upload that you can use to lookup which list item you want to update.  Maybe something about the title of the file matches something in the item.  That will be the big issue.
