How to Rename Multiple Email Attachments in Sharepoint Flow

Newbie question— I am trying to create a work flow that takes the email attachments from a single email and creates new files in a sharepoint folder with unique names for each attachment. So far I can take each attachment and place them in their designated folders, but I am having a hard time being able to rename each of them separate titles. Any help would be very appreciated, thanks!

You can use the Action "SharePoint - Create file" and then give it another name like this:

The trigger starts on a new mail arrival, make sure you include attachments and only with attachments. The apply to each will be created when you add some content to your "Create file" action. If you only handle one type of attachments (like only pdf), you can directly give it a ".pdf" in the end, otherwise you would need to split it from the attechment content type. Within the "File name" you can use the old name or give the file a new name. The file content should be the dynamic value.

Here are my formulars that I used:

Compose 2:

split(items('Apply_to_each')?['contentType'],'/')

Create file

File Name:

items('Apply_to_each')?['name']}_NewName.last(outputs('Compose_2'))

Your file should be created and saved with the new name:

Thank you very much for your help! For clarification, by using the split function will I be able to give multiple attachments unique names to their files? For example, I get three excel files in an email: I want to create new files for each, put them in the same folder, and to name the first “XXX_YYY” the second “XXX_ZZZ” and the third “XXX_AAA”. Is this action possible?

sorry, my reply was a bit unclear.

The dynamic content "Attachment ContentType" returns a value as "image/png" or "application/pdf", to dynamically create the correct filetype (png, pdf, etc.) we need to split the content of "ContentType" by "/".

That will split the "application/pdf" into ["application","pdf"], so an array with two items. Using the last() expression in the create file, we get the last item ("pdf") from this array and add it after our dot to create the ".pdf".

Within the "Create file" action, I use the dynamic value "Attachments Name", which should be the YYY, ZZZ and AAA from your example. The XXX is some text you can add directly in the field:

You can change the order as you like within the field, the only important thing is the name needs the ".pdf" or ".img" in the end of your name.
