How to change the content type of a file content after using dataUriToBinary function?

Here is what I want to do: Get Rows from SQL -> Create a HTML Table with the SQL Rows -> Create a File with the HTML table after some conversions (1. Convert the html table to uri by dataUri function. 2. Convert the dataUri to Binary by dataUriToBinary function) ->  send the email with the file.Capture.JPG

I want to send the email with attachment, which the file is a PDF file. Here I got the file, but the content seems incorrect since I was unable to open it. I think the reason was I didn't use the correct file content, so how should I change the content type when creating the file with the content that is generated by dataUriToBinary function?Capture2.JPG

Hello @Zhangzhonghao

I've recreated your flow, and I don't think it's possible to create a PDF without OneDrive or any other 3rd party Connectors. In your case, the File System connector is "infering" the content type, and that can't be changed.

Ferran

Hi @Zhangzhonghao

Thank you for posting.

According to your description, seems you would like to copy data from SQL and list them in binary format. Then input them into a pdf type file. If any misunderstanding, please kindly let me know.

If that’s the case, I believe we combine  ‘create CSV table’ with ‘convert file’ action as CSV file is a type of binary file. Because we can’t create PDF file directly, we need to create html file first and then convert it to a pdf.

In my flow, I use sharepoint list as data source. But no worries, they are similar.

After that, I’m able to create two file which are html file and pdf file. I can open them successfully.

Hope the content above may help you.

@v-duann-msft  thanks for you information! Your understanding is correct, I know the method to convert html to PDF by using OneDrive or other 3rd-party connector such as encodian, etc. But my issue is what if that I don't have OneDrive or SharePoint. As my screenshot, I used the File System connector, since there is no way to convert, I tried to generate the pdf using the build-in functions like dataUri, dataUriToBinary of Power Automate. Do you have any idea for this? Thanks a lot!

see how the PDF displays a simple flat plain string ?!?!?!!
when you format the html and doctype encode it .. it destroys the Convert .

my pdf is always 1kb .. i can encode in 64 / then binary etc all instances return empty

this is not a trusted dependable path I suppose thats why it says (Preview) beside Convert on the Action block title
