How to sent back the score from Microsoft Forms (Quiz) to Teams Message?

Hi.

When my students submit the forms, how possible is it to reply their sore to MS. Teams chat to them using a flow bot?

I've tried to do it but only answer that they left can be sent back to them.

My requirement is I would like to send back their score in Teams message as a bot.

Thanks

Quiz Flow.jpg

This is my flow. Now when the flow was run then it got no error nut something went wrong instead it could be done, In this case, there was a wrong run flow. It could be pass-through "Yes" condition and got the score but this flow ran on "no" condition even I test on the right answer.

No cond.jpg

That was different from MS. Form point.

Teams CH.jpg

This was the result that I got from MS Teams Notification.

Please helps me to solve.

The Power Automate YouTube channel has this recent video from 2021 that shows that we can use SharePoint to collect the quiz scores and notify the users with Outlook, but it provides no explanation and I can find no action that makes it easy.  Nor can I find a template that does this function.  Does anyone have any ideas on how the video is trying to recommend using SharePoint?

The only thing I can think of which can be complicated is using lookup columns or using the method explained in this post with conditions inside Power Automate.  Both of these ways are pretty laborious when I have 30+ quiz questions, with many of them being multiple response questions. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Looking for a quick way to get Forms Quiz scores using Flow I´ve also seen video shared by @tbrodbeck and trying to find who posted or how this can be done.

Hi @Anonymous

My work around was to use conditions for every single question.   Choice questions that select all that apply has to use the contains condition rather than equal to. I also initialize two variables at the beginning, one for the score and one for pass / fail result. At the end, I use a greater than or equal to condition on totalScore to see if the quiz is passing or failing.

Here is where we test to see if the score is passing or failing. Here is where we test to see if the score is passing or failing. Here we initialize the two variables totalScore and quizResult and then we check each question in the form for the right answer; if the answer is correct, the totalScore variable is incremented a specified number of points. Here we initialize the two variables totalScore and quizResult and then we check each question in the form for the right answer; if the answer is correct, the totalScore variable is incremented a specified number of points.

Hi @tbrodbeck :

Clever workaround!!!! but it´ll be a hard work to re-do all those conditions within each flow for each Quiz.

The person who asked me for help has more than 150 Quizzes (trainings) and he has been able to manage all this environment from an Excel file with MACROS and some manual taks to export and import.
I was surprised when I saw that video saying

Then it mentioned

What else do I need?... but then I saw there was nothing after that.... even this Video belongs to the "official Microsoft Power Automate YouTube channel"

funny fake news...

@Anonymous
Agreed - the video confused me and there were no resources online about it.  Very frustrating.
I reached out to Jon Levesque on Twitter and he recommended the tutorial that he made below.  It is another way to do what I accomplished but using the dataverse.  We don't use dataverse in our company so I had to go the long way.  I hope this helps.

Power Automate Tutorial - Automatically Grade Assignments - YouTube

This is the approach I have had to use as well - very frustrating that the score isn't available to the Flow - seems like such a straightforward thing to include.

I have a question about the multiple choice questions though - I tried using 'contains' to check for the correct answers but ran into problems when all options were selected, it is treated that as the right answer.  How do you ensure that the marks are given only when they select the right options?

Hi Gentlemen:
In case it helps, I´ve been able to leverage some progress after viewing this video from Master Reza: How to Get Forms Responses using Power Automate | Download Excel, Filter, PDF of Quiz Results

Hope it helps

Bonjour, j'ai aussi un problème avec les quizs.

lorsque je met get reponse details je n'ai que l'ID de réponse et pas la liste : pourquoi?

merci

I tried this method, but the result calculated via automate does not match the score on Microsoft Forms. I've double-checked the points assigned on forms and automate, which are the same. Any ideas why there is a mismatch in the scores? Thanks in advance.

I am also encountering the same problem. Did you manage to figure out a solution? If so, could you please share it here? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi @saranp780

Your post helped me a lot when I faced a similar problem : Power Automate can't retrieve the score of a Ms Forms.

So I made a solution which works perfectly for my case. I believe you can easily adapt it for the last steps (send to Team instead of send an email)

Here is what I did to get the score of my Quiz Form :

- Made a Quiz in Ms Forms with questions that scored for 1 each, and with only one possible answer (because I don't know how to calculate the Score with a formula in Excel if multiple answers, see below)

- Populated an Excel File with the answers

- Added a column Score in the Excel with the following formula to check against the solution:

=SUM(IF(TabReponses[@[Question1]:[Question10]]=Solution!$A$2:$J$2;1;0))

This will sum all the '1', so when an answer cell is equal to the solution cell

- Get the line in the same Excel corresponding to the responder

- Get the score => one great thing is that the Excel formulas are recalculated automatically, I did not put a script or do anything, and I checked that my Excel file was closed

- Send an Email to the responder with its score

I hope this can helps others with dealing this missing functionnality of Forms + Power Automate !

@microsoft, why is the quiz result not sent in the JSON to Power Automate? This seems like a simple request. I am in the process of trying to find another quiz platform because it just isn't worth the effort to try maintain the questions and answers in two different places. There is no reason for this process to be so onerous. Please fix this issue.
