We have a document library called Opportunities, where our sales people place the files related to an opportunity in the pre-award phase.
If the opportunity status in this library is changed to Awarded, there are 8 possible libraries for the files to be moved to. I have a flow that currently moves the files to one of these libraries.
I am adding a column in my Opportunities library called Document Lib, a dropdown column with the eight different libraries listed.
I would like a flow to move files that have an opportunity status of Awarded into the library selected from the Document Lib column.
I think the Switch feature could work, but I can't make the connection for my scenario.
Am I asking for the impossible? I would appreciate any help offered!
Thanks!
Rodger
@rstroup ,
I definately think a switch would work here. I have a similiar flow in my environmnet where I receive email attachments from another system. Based on the subject the attachments get moved to 1 of 20 libraries. I'm doing this based on a switch and it works great. I have a "drop off library" hooked up to the "default" branch on the switch and a separate mechanism to alert me if anything gets added to that library.
Thanks for confirming that the switch is the way to go. Your e-mail example is exactly what I'm dealing with. Now, it's off to see if I can make the switch work for me.
Thanks!
Rodger
Hi @rstroup,
Based on your description of your requirements, I created a flow that is close to your idea. The configuration screenshots are as follows:
The red lines I've drawn are the ones you need to be careful about when you configure.
In addition, it is important to note that in order to make the Move file successful, you need to add these two columns to each of the eight target libs you Move.
You can have a try. If there is any problem, please contact us.

Thanks very much for this. I just finished adding the columns to my libraries. I'm ready to start on the flow.
I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks again!

Good morning,
I have run two tests on this flow, and while both tests displayed that they ran successfully, I didn't get the outcome I was looking for. Digging deeper into the flow, I found this error message in the Case 1 box: ActionDependencyFailed. The execution of template action 'Move_file' is skipped: dependant action 'Switch' completed with status 'Skipped' and code 'ActionSkipped'.
I would like to show you all of my work, but I can't seem to paste in pictures to my post.
Thanks for your help!
Rodger
Hi @rstroup,
You can paste your screenshots according to click the button "Photos".
If you paste the pictures, I hope you can take both the flow work around and the wrong information.

Good morning!
Adding the pictures isn't the easiest for me. I can get them in, but getting them placed as I want is tougher than it should be. So, in this post, I give you the flow as I built it. I've added the steps in the captions, just in case they don't appear to be in order.
Thanks!
Rodger
Hello again,
Here are the pictures of the flow when it ran yesterday. It ran successfully, but I'm not sure why, since my trigger of Awarded = True wasn't selected.
Thanks!
Rodger
Hi @rstroup,
Please set the value on the red line as "true", not "True".

Thanks for your continued assistance with this. Here is the error message in the Switch area.
Thanks again!
Rodger
It's my pleasure to help you.
Did you set the Award of your upload file in the SharePoint list to Yes?
And you need to ensure that the switch branch conditions are equivalent to your lib name, including punctuation marks.

Good morning,
I tried the flow again this morning with Awarded column set to Yes. I modified my library names to match the names found when I setup the conditions (the second image shows an example). Before making that change, I verified that all my library names matched the library names as they appear in the SharePoint Quick Launch menu. Matching up to those names hasn't helped me during my previous day's tests.
Below is the error I received today. I selected the document library in the second photo.
Thanks for sticking with me on this!
Rodger
Hi @rstroup,
But I have tested on my side, and the flow runs successfully.
This is the Opportunities library, or we call it a total library or original library that files from.
This is the target library. They have also with the columns that Awarded and Document Lib.
You can carefully compare the reply to the detailed steps I posted to you before and see if there is any missing detail.

Good morning,
My flow is still not moving files as it should. Here are the screen shots from this morning's test:
I have been looking at the Doc Lib names. I have changed my document library names a couple times as our SharePoint use has evolved. I'm assuming that my Doc Lib names need to match the name found in the URL for each library? Those are the library names that appeared when I was setting up each case.
Thanks for your help, and your patience.
Rodger
If the name is different than the url path, please try the friendly name of the library. Easiest way to find Library name is to go to Library settings and look at the name displayed in breadcrumbs. Example....
URL: https://domain.sharepoint.com/sites/site/Shared%20Documents
Library Name: Documents
Try deleting the move action and establishing a new one with the correct name and url if you're still having problems.
