I am using recurrence action which will run after day at 9 PM and then need to fetch emails based on various criteria including a specific date range. But while applying condition in Search query (Get Emails Action), I am not able to fetch the emails.
Used below condition.
Checked the source and in Outlook I receive email in this format - [ "receivedDateTime": "2024-02-19T05:42:31+00:00" ]
"receivedDateTime": ge '@{formatDateTime(addDays(utcNow(), -300), 'yyyy-MM-ddTHH:mm:ss')}'
Anyone can suggest me what is wrong in this.
Thanks in advance.
Hi @SK87 ,
With the Get emails action, you can only fetch up to 25 emails. If you would like to get more emails, please follow the steps in blow blog:
How to get more than 25 emails from a mailbox (Power Automate) (tomriha.com)
In another way, you can use the method in blow thread, search query can be applied:
Solved: Get emails (V3) - count unread / bypass 25 limit - Power Platform Community (microsoft.com)
receivedDateTime ge '@{formatDateTime(addDays(utcNow(), -300), 'yyyy-MM-ddTHH:mm:ss')}'

@v-jefferni I need to get emails from specific email ID example: xyz@abc.com and for this email ID I have emails in Inbox only 5 but all are from last year May-June'23. In that case also Get Emails not fetching the emails. Is this the case it checks Top 25 emails only in Inbox and if that ID is present then it will fetch.
Hi @SK87 ,
Sorry, I was wrong on the expression. Please try below:
received > @{formatDateTime(addDays(utcNow(), -300), 'yyyy-MM-ddTHH:mm:ss')}

Send an HTTP request action ; under URI I have entered this:
https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/me/mailFolders/AQMkADY3NjNhMTU2LTEyNjktNDU2MS05YjMwLTVkYTMwMWQzODI4...
$select=sender=donotreply@paylocity.com,subject=approved&top=2000
but not running properly . Is this URI correct?
If i go with different approach, creating a rule in outlook (moving emails from specific email id) to a new folder and then get emails from that folder.
Recurrence action >> Move Emails>> Get Emails (V3)
But in move emails we need to enter 'message id'. From where that can be fetched and add. This will also resolve my issue.
Hi @SK87 ,
Can't the search query work? You still need Get emails first and you can find message id in the outcome.

No, search query is not working.
Hi @SK87 ,
It should work. I had a test to search emails sent from myself in the past year, 25 emails can be retrieved.

I tried in same way as explained. Thanks for supporting but I am not getting any value in output. I am using Microsoft Outlook 365
Search Query: received > @{formatDateTime(addDays(utcNow(), -365), 'yyyy-MM-ddTHH:mm:ss')}
Result:
Please let me know, what wrong I am doing. I need to fetch emails from May'23 and June'23. along with latest this year emails.
Hi @SK87
Pls modify the graph API syntax. Here is an example:
Add "Send an HTTP request" action exists under outlook connector and pass the below URI:
https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/me/messages?$filter=sender/emailAddress/address eq 'm@m.com' and subject eq 'approve' and receivedDateTime ge @{addDays(utcNow(),-300)}&$top=500
Pls adjust the parameters as per the need.
If this helps & solves your problem, please remember to give a 👍 and accept my solution as it will help others in the future.
Thanks for your help.
I tried graph API syntax shared by you, it is running but I am not getting any value. That is blank. Below is the snip of result:
Could you please suggest what is wrong.
Hi @SK87
Instead of searching in a mail folder, you could try this:
https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/me/messages?
pls append filter & top parameters in the above URI
If this helps & solves your problem, please remember to give a 👍 and accept my solution as it will help others in the future.
I came across this post as I also had the 25 limit issue. With the help of Copilot, I got it working using the "send HTTP request" to bypass the limit and retrieve the necessary response date without using JSON parse. I used the Power Automate New designer view.
Outputs(Compose-HTTPRequest)
Inside the Apply to each loop, I added a Compose to get the receivedDateTime and another for Email Content (body of the email). Again, you can select other fields you want to retrieve
items('Apply_to_each')['receivedDateTime']
items('Apply_to_each')['Body']?['Content']
