PTO Approval with Condition Approvers

Hi,

I am trying to build a PTO approval that starts with a Form and then send an email for approval.  In the Form, question #2 asks their office location (Colorado, Headquarters, New Jersey, etc.). Based on the choice they make in the form, the approval email needs to send to the Director of that office. Colorado - Send to Director 1, Headquarters - Send to Director 2, New Jersey - Send to Director 3, etc and I have 7 conditions.  

I start with the form, get details, then go into the switch with the conditions for each office.  For each office, I then build individual approvals so that it goes to the correct Director.  However, I am getting the error message "Correct to include a valid reference to 'Create_item' for the input parameters(s) of action 'Send_an_email_(V2)'".  Does anyone know why I am getting this error message?

I'm not sure why you are getting the error, but one thing I did notice that is wrong.  You are using Start an Approval, which is an Old deprecated action.  You should be using Start and Wait for an Approval.  If you switch that out then you also need to switch the Condition from response to Outcome.  Try that it may fix your problem.  The older deprecated actions can cause issues.

Pstork1, thanks for catching that.  I have updated that part and it is asking me for the "Apply to each" to select an output from the previous step.  See below.  Should I choose "Responses" for this?  I also see that the signature needs to be changed from "Approver Name" to "Response Approver name" is this correct as well?

The change to Responses approver name is correct.  The apply to each appears because Responses are always a collection, even if there is only one responder.  If there is only one responder you can manually create the JSON in the expressions tab using First() to avoid the Apply to Each.

Thank you for all of your help!! That all worked.  I also found in the "send email (v2)" that when I was choosing dynamic content from the sharepoint list (that I created to hold all of the information), I was getting errors.  When I switched all the dynamic content to be from the form, it helped as well.  All conditions are working.
