Power apps flow is running forever

Hello,

I have created a flow to copy files and folders from share point to s3 using SFTP connector and sometimes the flow is success and sometimes it is in "running" state forever.

Can someone please suggest how I can resolve it. Is there is any logs that can check on why the flow is running forever.

I am getting all the files and folders from share point using "Get Files (Properties Only )" and then checking if it is file or folder (using isFolder ) if it's file, I am creating file at s3 end using SFTP connector and if it's folder I am creating folder.

Here are screenshots

Here is the run history:

I even checked on analytics for any error messages but nothing is showing up.

Can you show the run history of one of those canceled runs? it might show where its slowing down, how many files and folders are being copied? try splitting it up, get all folders first, then just files, that way you can see if its hanging on folders or files.

How can I show the run history of canceled runs. I clicked on the canceled runs and here is the screenshot. In total there are 11. ( files and folders combined).

oh right, it was cancelled, not errored so you cant see in the apply to each. on this test runs did any folders and files that were supposed to be copied succeed? on the long running tests, where the files larger that usual? you could have power automate send you a teams message for each successful copied file so you can see what file is slowing it down. I'd remove it after testing, but could help you identify problem files.

Got it. there are 5 folders and 3 files. Apply for each is stuck in running state.

There is no change in the success one and the one that I am currently running. I just re-ran the flow and it's not running.

and no files are showing up where they are supposed to? because you wont see results in power automate until the entire apply to each is completed running.

so the thing is for first time it is working fine and when I run the same flow again it is "running" forever. For first time I deleted everything at s3 end and ran the flow. ( Created only folders at s3 end ). First time the folders got created successfully and when I run the same flow again it got stuck in "create folder" step. I am thinking since the folder already exists at s3 end it is unable to create one. Is there any option to set where if the folder/file already exists replace it or over ride it.

Here is the screenshot where the flow got stuck. this is the second time I am running the flow.

nice find, so the way to work around that is to add an action that searches your target location for folders matching the name of the folder you want to create, if it returns anything then dont create the folder, if it returns null create the folder. should be done with files as well unless you want them to overwrite.

ya. working on it. right now.

I am looking at actions but I don't see action that lists all the folders at s3 bucket. I see only list of files but no list folders.

Here is the connector that I am using

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/sftpwithssh/#get-file-content

does the connector have a value like FSObjType, which returns a value based on whether its a file or folder? I host in sharepoint so I filter get file details with FSObjType eq 1 and it returns only folders.

ya from share point end I know the FSObjType. But in SFTP -SHH connector I don't see any object to put this parameter.

These are the only actions I see https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/sftpwithssh/#actions

I have a janky solution, you could use another list files in folder, then set the folder path to the folder you are trying to make, then create a run after failed state to create the folder, since the action will fail if the folder doesn't exist, if it does exist and the action runs, do nothing, which will skip the folder, and move on to the next one.

I am unable to write condition - If the file exists at s3 end don't create any file if the file doesn't exists create file.

I am able to pull all the files from share point end using " Get Files " property.

I am able to pull all the files from s3 side using " List files in folder " property but I am struggling to establish the condition. can you please suggest any thoughts?

Thanks.

write your create folder action, then click the 3 dots on the top right of the action, select Configure run after, then check has failed and uncheck is successful. then it will only make folders if the folder doesnt exist
