Send email when item created in Sharepoint - find email address from text line column

Hello,

Hoping someone is able to help.

My scenario

User completes and submits a form. When the form is submitted, the form is added to a SharePoint list (SPL1). The form requires the user to include a cost centre when submitting the form. 

On a separate SharePoint list (SPL2) is the cost centre hierarchy where each cost centre is assigned to an individual (manager) in a text line column. The reason this is a text line column is because the data is pulled from an excel table and the SPL2 list is refreshed overnight and SharePoint doesn't allow you to convert text line column data to a person column (or not that I know of). I use a lookup to pull the manager's name into SPL1 against the line item created based on the cost centre supplied. 

I would like to know if it would be possible to send an approval email to the relevant manager once the user submits a form and this could be achieved via a flow. All the managers have the same email domain and their email address would be their full name and the organisations email domain name. Their name will be consistent with the name column in SPL2.

Assuming the the manager information has been populated, you can use the Office 365 Users Get Manager action.  You'll supply the action with the email address of the employee.  You'll assign the approval to the Mail property available under the Get Manager action in Dynamic properties.

The manager may not necessarily be the manager of the user who submits the form but the manager of the particular cost centre the user has applied against the form request. 

I assume the get manager action would identify the manager of the user rather than the cost centre manager?

If the Get manager action does not supply the manager that you want, you'll need to lookup the manager in some other way.  Maybe create a SharePoint list with the info.
