Sharepoint List didn't show the date that I passed in

I created a Flow to save a specific date that I want into the SharePoint list.

As you can see, the date that I passed in my Flow was 07/24/2020 23:06:42.

2020-07-28_16-15-54.png

However, after the Flow completed. The date that I saw in SharePoint list was a different date, It shown 7/25/2020 1:06AM.

This behavior changed only happen today, 2 days ago the solution was working fine and showing whatever date that I passed in the Flow to the SharePoint.

Please help. Thank you! 🙂

Hi @Anonymous

If this was working before then check the regional settings

  1. Go to the root of your site collection
  2. Click Site Settings
  3. Click on Regional Settings under Site Administration
  4. Check the regional settings are correct or not.

Thanks

Dear abm,

I checked the regional setting, the timezone is correct, it should be in UTC+1. The regional setting wasn't changed before.

2020-07-28_17-15-29.png

I think the SharePoint list should not change the date that I want to save into the field.

Refer to the flow below, the INPUT for the date is 07/28/2020 23:43:36

2020-07-28_17-29-43.png

But the output is: 2020-07-28T23:43:36Z, could those extra characters impacted the data that saved in the field?

2020-07-28_17-30-01.png

When I right click>>Edit the record in SharePoint list, the date shown as below, which has been wrongly saved. It should be 07/28/2020 23:43 instead of 07/29/2020 01:43 AM.

Please any help and suggestion are appreciated! 🙂

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for your quick reply. Try to format the datetime using formatDateTime expression like below

formatDateTime('07/28/2020 23:43:36','yyyy-MM-ddTHH:mm:ss')

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous ,

It seems that the date time in the  sharepoint list would always 2 hours later than the passed date.

I suggest that you could take a try to add -2 hours to the passed date when save the date to the list as an alternative solution.

Best Regards,

Alice

Dear abm,

Thank you for your reply! I tried your suggestion, it still the same. The value in SharePoint still changed and it doesn't store the date value that I passed in the Flow.

In the Flow, I see this value being stored to the SharePoint List:

2020-07-29_17-35-10.png

But when I checked in the SharePoint list, the value changed:

2020-07-29_17-35-55.png

This is super weird. Could this be a bug? Any suggestion is appreciated! Thank you @abm

Dear @v-alzhan-msft

Thank you for your reply! That is a workaround, but this solution was working 3 days ago. Working meaning the SharePoint list show whatever date that I pass in from Microsoft Flow.

However, without changing anything, the SharePoint List behavior changed, as you can see, the date that I passed in the Microsoft Flow show 2020-07-30 00:20:08. Which means the SharePoint list got the correct value.

2020-07-29_17-35-10.png

When I checked in the SharePoint List, the value changed to 07/30/2020 02:20AM (like you said, 2 hours later than the date time value that I passed in).

This also means whatever date, regardless I add in 2 hours or not in the Flow, the date shown in the SharePoint list will still add 2 more hours. Hope this explains my issue and I really appreciate your reply!

Any more suggestion is appreciated! Thank you! 🙂

Dear @abm

Sure. It is quite long the solution, I will print screen the part that is related to the issue, please let me know if you need more information. Appreciate your help! 🙂

This is the step to store the date-time value from the previous step to the SharePoint list.

Thank you! 🙂

Dear @abm ,

Yes, I did. Sorry that I thought you were asking for the original configuration.

This is the configuration that I made according to your suggestion.

And this is what I see in SharePoint List

Dear @abm @v-alzhan-msft

I did a simple test by just using utcnow() in the Flow to save this date time to the SharePoint.

2020-07-30_11-31-09.png

See the Flow show the date-time at 2020-07-30 16:29:34

2020-07-30_11-33-57.png

But in SharePoint it show 2 hours later

2020-07-30_11-32-59.png

Please help. Thank you! 🙂

Dear @abm

Indeed you are right! It is due to the SharePoint site regional setting!

Then I will have an issue since the SharePoint that I am going to use it belongs to the public, and I can't change the regional setting.

I wonder if you would be able to give some suggestions? Thank you! 🙂

Hi @Anonymous

I don't understand why can't you change the regional settings? Why going public is having an issue related to regional settings.

Thanks

Dear @abm

That is because the SharePoint that I am going to deploy my solution is using by few integration solutions too, by changing the regional setting, it might change impact whatever solution that currently already exist.
