Show on Card? Microsoft Planner

I am in the process of creating a flow that integrates with MS Planner but some reason there is no option to indicate Show on card in the flow. I wonder whether this feature is available in Power Automate flow?

can these update be restricted by the organization?

fixed my issue i changed the step from "Send an  HTTP request V2 (preview)" to "Send an HTTP request" and it worked, now i can see the checklist on the planner.

I am getting the same error also. I have tried send request and send request V2.

Error is -

Hello i have same problem with URI. Its insane what you have to do because of lazy ass MS, one stupid attribute, two years later and you cant still set "previewType" by task detail step. Where i can get right adress for tasks in planner bcs. its not working with https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/planner/tasks/{task-id}/details ? If i click copy link on task in planner it gets me really long unusefull address, i can get this from task detail step but isnt working too: https://tasks.office.com/*OUR_COMPANY*/Home/Task/qOcf8_0Be0Ob4kN0rZdqKZcACBt5?Type=TaskLink&Channel=... and not wotking when i cut everything behind ? character and use dynamic PlannerID. P.S. Im from CZ, another bull**bleep** from MS is that they are translating names of functions so they are making it harder to use english guides, this stupidity started in excel years ago, just whyyyyyyyyyy....

Hey, so for me the change to description works fine. Maybe Check again for typos. Here you see the possible previewtypes:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/plannertaskdetails-update?view=graph-rest-1.0&tabs=http

Or here for C&P my Input at Send an http request:

{
"previewType": "description"
}

I found the final solution after going crazy for hours.

I found out that the here mentioned "@{body('Update_task_details')?['body']?['@odata.etag']}" is actually null/empty.

By looking at the output of "Create a task" OR "Update task details" that makes sense since the Etag is in the "headers" and NOT in the "body".

After changing the expression to @{outputs('Update_task_details')?['headers']?['Etag']}

I also found that the "Send an HTTP request" is NOT working in my scenario but rather the "Invoke an HTTP request".

Check the screenshots for further clarification.

Hi @digi365 ! Thank you for sharing this.

I am using the classic Send an HTTP request (all the others cannot read my URI and I could not try with Invoke an HTTP request as this is a premium feature of Power Automate).

I tried adding the Etag like this:

"@{body('Update_task_details')?['body']?['@odata.etag']}"

and it did not work!

However, with your suggestion it does!
@{outputs('Update_task_details')?['headers']?['Etag']}

In case someone still cannot create an Etag, I found another way in two steps:

1. Retrieve the Etag value from the Raw output of your last "Update task details action":

Capp_0-1688492481353.png

--> Capp_1-1688492498052.png

2. Using the given Etag value "W/"JzEtVGFza0RldGFpbHMgQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBASCc="", the CustomHeader1 for the "If-Match" header would be:

If-Match: "JzEtVGFza0RldGFpbHMgQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBASCc="

You can directly type in the CustomHeader1 field. Please note that the value should be enclosed in double quotes as shown above.

Capp_3-1688492964654.png

After hitting send or after saving, it should then automatically transform into this:

Capp_2-1688492913515.png

Do not worry if it does not, as it will still work!

Hope this helps!

Hi,

your screenshot looks different than the one above, are you sure you are using same Send HTTP request task(i wasnt able to find it by its name in my language so i have to search for office 365 groups)? Now i can see only Send HTTP request V2 so maybe MS broke it(V2 is also looking different than your screenshot), they are breaking working things so often so its just normal. BTW My powerautomate site randomly switching between old and new look, MS just like to messing with users.

I'm pretty sure part of the problem you might have is having "PATCH" in your URI. You already have PATCH selected on the line below. Your URI needs to begin with https part.

After trying almost all of the suggestions here, except anything that requires premium tools, I am still getting the 400 error.

"URI path is not a valid Graph endpoint, path is neither absolute nor relative or resource/object is not supported for this connector. Resources: groups."

I'm so confused as why that's happening. I tried to pull ID from various steps but no change.

oh... I wonder if this is an issue for my organization to be creating this error...?

I tried so many times to get the Send an HTTP request to work.  No matter what I tried, it always failed.  This was the most recent error I received:
invoke_error.png

I happened to come across this video explaining how to make calls to the Microsoft Graph API: How to use Microsoft Graph API in Power Automate

The video used the Invoke an HTTP request from HTTP with Microsoft Entra ID (preauthorized) connector.  After setting up the initial configuration (steps in the video), I added all the same information referenced in the thread and now everything is working.

Hope that helps for anyone facing similar issues as me using the Send an HTTP request action.
