Split array into CSV colums and rows

Hi,

i have an Array, created out of strings, basically in the format;    {ArticleTypeX:ArticleCodeX}

for an x amount of strings

What i want to do is add a step to the picture below creating a CSV table,

The format in my CSV table i want to achieve, example with 3 strings put into my array

Column A (Header)Column B (Value)
ArticleType1ArticleCode1
ArticleType2ArticleCode2
ArticleType3ArticleCode3

I don't really understand how to get the format above, i somehow need to split the Array values by the ':'

Then place the left side of the array value (ArticleTypeX) in Column A, the right side of the array value (ArticleCodeX) in Column B

You do nothing, you just set the columns to automatic and it will do it for you. However your append to array variable step looks wrong. Please just copy the code from your "Append to array variable" step and paste it in a code window here and I will reformat it for you to be correct.

Can you paste the whole flow? What you want to do is easy, but with respect, the way your question has been worded, or the way the flow has been constructed makes it difficult to give you a straightforward answer. You array seems a  very strange format to me. I think with the whole flow pictured I could give you some decent guidance.

Hi Paulie,

Ok so basically i need to extract pieces of data (The article code 1 and code 2) from alot of data and get this formatted into a CSV file.

I do this by using the data operations 'select' tool (blue). This happens inside a 'apply to each' loop, i want the data inside the loop to be usable on the outside, so i use 'append variable to string' operation (red). then outside the loop i use a append to array variable (black) and put the strings in. I now want to create a csv table which each row representing the resulting string of a loop, then split that row into two colomn ( code1 and code2, divided by the ':' )

If there is a more efficient way please let me know, im not very good at building flows.

It is also no problem to extract code1 and code2 seperately inside my loop, if this makes it more easy to place in seperate columns

Hello,

You have overcomplicated it a bit. You really don't need the step "Append to String Variable A of C and P". You can simply go directly to "Append to array variable" and don't bother with the replace functions etc. Just put it in as it comes out of the select. Then it will be in the correct form to go into your CSV File.

Make a copy of your flow, then modify the copy. Then give a sample output of the newly created array and I will show you how to create the CSV you want.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I tried to put it into the array directly but it doesn't support the format:

if it only ever returns one result in the loop, in the append to array variable try using:

first(output of the select action here)

Succes!

ok, so now you can construct your CSV file with that array, right?

Yes, but i need it to be in a specific format;

TThe output of each loop on a new row, so for example the first loop gave output

Kryptic_1-1608115646003.png

The second loop gave:

Kryptic_2-1608115767928.png

And i need it to be placed like:

Kryptic_0-1608115594296.png

So change your append to array variable step to be like this:

2020-12-16_11-03-58.png

Obviously replace the static elements I have written in here with your dynamic data. Then the array will automatically produce a line by line breakdown for you.

Ok i managed to get the output of the Array like you described, first loop example:

I'm not sure how to get it in the CSV columns:

You do nothing, you just set the columns to automatic and it will do it for you. However your append to array variable step looks wrong. Please just copy the code from your "Append to array variable" step and paste it in a code window here and I will reformat it for you to be correct.
