Total Rejection Count , Capture Approver/Rejector Name , Pending with Approver Name

Greetings,
I currently have an approval flow build but I have 2 additional requirements to fulfill.
Background: Approval Flow is of "Everyone must approve" type.
Now, Requirements:

  • I want to capture the person who Approves and Rejects the request. Currently, I am able to do so after everyone has approved or anyone has rejected it. But, what I would like to do is capture the approver/rejectors' name as soon as anyone has actioned upon it. Example:
    • Approval Email sent to 5 People. When 1st Person Approves, update a Single Line Text Column in Sharepoint with Approver Name and His Response.  When 2nd Person Does, the same repeats and appends the data in Sharepoint column for that request. This happens till 5th Requestor actions, however, if anyone of them rejects the approval flow anyways stops but captures the person name who has rejected and his response and appends to that SharePoint column.
    • I would want to capture how many times a request has been rejected before it has been fully approved. Example:
      • If a request has been sent to approval the rejection count is 0, but if it is rejected the first time the count becomes 1 and if it is rejected 2nd time the count becomes 2 and so on.. till the request has been approved.
    • As of now, I capture All the approver's names in a SharePoint column(Single Line Text), but as per the requirement, the user would want to know once the request has been submitted with whom the request is pending. Example:
      • if the request is gone for approval to 5 users and if any 2 of them approve the pending with column should show the names of users who haven't approved the request yet.

I hope the above requirements were clear and if you need more clarification, would be happy to help.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Anonymous,

If you want to update SharePoint item once an approver responded via one approval request it is impossible.

But we could initialize an array variable that store these approvers email, send each of them the same approval at the same time.

Once they reject, increase the integer variable we should initialize in the begin that count reject.

To make it possible, we should set the Apply to each action to turn on the Concurrency control:

@v-litu-msft I actually have a requirement to start and wait for an approval flow with approval type "Everyone must approve". One of the major requirements is to capture the approvers once they approve or reject.
I am able to increment the rejection variable once the request is rejected. Also, I am able to capture the response name their response, response date, and comments only when each one of them has approved or anyone has rejected. So rather than doing at the end of the request, I would need to capture it as each and everyone starts approving or rejecting.

is this possible?

Hi @Anonymous,

Yes, my solution is to send approval request to everyone, but these approval request are separate, and once they respond, update the SharePoint item.
