Update Event (v4) Time Zone Issue

I'm setting up a Flow to add a respondee to a Form to an existing event created in Outlook (using this thread  https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/General-Flow-Discussion/Microsoft-forms-RSVP-with-Create-Event-v... and a solution by @MarkStokes ), however there are now different versions of actions that have added different features.

I'm specifically asking about the Time Zone on Update Event (v4). The flow works as it should do and sends a meeting request to the user depending on what option they have picked on the form, however in transit it brings the meeting forward an hour. It continues to do this every time someone accepts it an hour at a time.

Is this a bug with the v4 of the Update Event action or am I doing something wrong? I have the time zone set as London time and all the Outlook calendars that are being sent the invite are also set up to UK.

Hi @khaycock ,

Could you please share a screenshot of the configuration of your flow?

Does the start time and end time would both forward an hour after the "Update Event" action, and you don't want the start time and end time for forwarding an hour?

If yes, you could refer to screenshot below to create the flow:

The expression in the Start time column as below:

addHours(outputs('Compose'),1)

The expression in the End time column as below:

addHours(outputs('Compose_2'),1)

Best regards,

Alice

Hi Alice,

I am going to test the above to see if it works for V4 but in the meantime I managed to find the V2 option for Outlook.com rather than Outlook Office 365.

Have you used this feature before? I only ask because there are some occasions where the event is firing out every time a new person is added to it. For example, if everytime someone new picked the Brighton location, everyone who had already chosen Brighton would get an email with a new meeting request, not just the new person that had submitted the form.

Is that something you can help me with if I send over the flow?

Thanks,

Kathryn

I'm sure the solution offered here would work, however the issue remains unresolved. I'm fairly certain this is a bug caused by differences in daylight savings between the different users asking to be invited. This is causing me a nightmare as I'm running dozens of sessions for a ~800 person global audience and the meeting times are going absolutely nuts. Sessions scheduled for prior to UK daylight savings are unaffected. Anything after 30th March is going crazy!

Hi, @v-alzhan-msft

The above solution helps as a workaround with one large drawback.

Every time someone submits the form and the event gets updated, then everyone already added to the event gets an event update. If the functionality works as it should, then only the newly added recipient would get the event update.

How can I get an update or feedback on the progress to fix this bug?

I'm desperate.

Kind Regards,

Jubber

Anyone has a fix yet?

I'm also facing this issue when trying to set an automation flow from Microsoft Form to Outlook.

I tried Update Event V3 & V4 but both are bugged.

When users sign up to my training event, sometimes the event sends an update to all the attendees (but not the organizer), about a change in the time/date of my training event. This happens even though the organizer didn't edit the event (I am the organizer). I think it happens when people from other time zones register.

A similar issue occurs when people decline the event after they registered or delete it from their Outlook. In such cases, the event sends a cancellation update to all registered attendees, but not to the organizer.

I found out about these bugs from users contacting me privately, asking what happened to the event... why was it cancelled...

I would like to disable this bug and make sure subscribed users receive event notifications only when the organizer actually makes changes to the event.
