Update specific row when passing data through HTTP

I am passing data from canvas to power automate flow. In the canvas, the data is coming from a spread sheet. I used flow HTTP to get the data and now in canvas app I am editing the data and using another flow I am passing the data.

In the second flow I am using the Power Apps v2 connector. The data is being passed properly. The issue is updating the specific row. When I update the data, ALL the rows get updated. How do I update a specific row.

My flow is:
1. Power Apps v2 to get the data from canvas
2. ParseJSON
3. Apply to each and passing the ParseJSon Body
4. HTTP action using the patch method and URI

This updates all of the records with the last entry submitted. What am I doing wrong?

Hi @Ameen1989,

You are using an apply to each loop with the body, which means it will loop through every item of your loop and uses a PATCH request for each item of the loop. That's why all items are updated.

Either don't use an apply to each and refer to the specific item by using an index [3] (would be the 4th item), below could be a reference to the id field of that item.

body('Parse_Json')[3]['Id']

Alternatively, keep using the apply to each and place a Filter Array action in front of it. Use the Body field of your Parse Json in that Filter Array. You can use an ID is equal to filter to find the matching item you want to update. Replace the Body of the Parse Json by the Body of the Filter Array in the Apply to each action.

In that case you don't need to update the current HTTP action setup because it would only loop through 1 item of the Filter Array.

I am going with the filter array. Can you explain how I can get the ID? Here is the scenario

I am using google sheets and using HTTP action, with get method and URI. I am getting the data and passing it to powerapps canvas and showing it in a gallery. From there, the user can view and update the data. After that I am using the Run(JSON()) to convert the data to string and pass it to another flow, where this data is being received using power apps v2 trigger. I am then using the parseJson on this data.

Till here everything works, the problem is the update. Now if I use the Filter Array. I should write it after the ParseJson and before the for each loop. In the filter array I should use the ParseJson in the body and compare the values, correct.

I want to ask how can I compare the IDs. I have an ID column in Google Sheet which gets passed in the integer but when I send the data from canvas to flow Run(JSON()) it converts the data to string.

Any ideas how I can get around this?

Hi @Ameen1989,

The Filter Array should be outside of the apply to each loop. You can use an expression to refer to the ID you are getting from the PowerApps data. I assume you are only sending one ID/integer in that PowerApps.Run setup?

If that is the case you should be able to use the below.

@equals(item()['ID'], first(body('Parse_Json'))['ID'])
