User added new file and did not trigger approval

Hi!

I have created a flow to approve invoices, it triggers when a new file is added in Onedrive business. It works if I add a file, but it is not working if other users add a file. 

Why is this happening?

Hello @DianaMF ,

can you give us a little more details about your flow? Which Trigger do you use - OneDrive (Private) or OneDrive for Business? Do you have shared your flow with the other person that needs to start the flow?

In general OneDrive for Business is the personal storage for each user within your company and you should consider using a SharePoint Library if you want to collaborate and use your flow within your team.

Thank you very much for your reply, I am new user and I am still learning, so I appreciatte the help 🙂

It is a OneDrive for Businees, the file is shared with another user (Jenny) and the idea is that any time a new file is added we get an approval of the new file. This was finally working well on Friday after a couple of adjustments andit was great! but yesterday the other user was working away from the office and put files in the OneDrive and it didn't trigger the approval. To test it, I put a new file and it worked. 

As you can see in the next picts, the file I added (Nolans) triggered the approval, but the two files Jenny added didn't:

I also run a history in Power Automate and there is not status of Failure for these files. I also added Jenny as owner of the flow but it didnt work. 

I wonder if the reason is that she was using a different network? However, I found this very strange...

in the Trigger have you specified the Folder shared with Jenny or simply the root?

I've replicated the issue, and all is working fine if I specify the exact folder shared with another user.

I dentified the root that is also the same folder shared. I was reading about the trigger "When a file is created (properties only)" it says that "Files moved within OneDrive are not considered new files" Do you think this could be the reason?

If yes, how can I fix it? because we are using Onedrive to save all the invoices, then once they are saved in MYOB they are moved in to this folder to be approved... we did an extra step of moving the invoices into C:Drive and back to the Trigger folder and it is working ... I hope we can fix as this is just an Extra / unnecesary step!

I am still hoping to find a better way to trigger the approval. At the moment we are moving the files out to a C:Drive, and then from the C:Drive to OneDrive and the trigger works.

I believe it should be a better way to trigger this approval moving files within OneDrive, any suggestions?
