Using REST API to create a field in a Sharepoint list, all created fields seem to be defaulted to hidden.

I'm currently using a Power Automate flow that creates a Sharepoint list using REST API. However all my created fields seem to be defaulting to hidden. Here are screenshots of my flow and list:

And here are the steps to create fields/add items to the list:

However, when I go to the list in Sharepoint after the flow finishes running, the title 'Testrow' is present but the field 'Integration SMEs' is hidden. I have to manually show the column to see the entry 'TestPerson1'. Is there a way to create the field so it is visible?

Hi @Anonymous,

Have you checked the list settings? My guess is that your new fields are created by just not added to the default view. 

You can use a Send an HTTP request to SharePoint action for this.

Below is an example with the TestCustomColumn column.

I am using two variables for the List Name and the View ID. You can replace that by your values.

Just to clarify, what is "ViewId" supposed to represent? What are the possible values?

Hi @Anonymous,

The View Id is a GUID. You can find it in the List Settings when you edit the view. It is in the address bar right after View=.

An example of this would without the variables would be:

_api/web/lists/getByTitle('ListName')/Views('73bf5f81-0644-49d3-a811-2734459ad36f')/ViewFields/addViewField

Yes, you could use a GET request and filter on your view name.

Below is an example.

_api/web/lists/getByTitle('@{variables('ListName')}')/Views?$select=Id&$filter=Title eq '@{variables('ViewName')}'

Thanks for the reply. But when I am giving the same formula , it is running the flow successfully but still fields are getting hidden.

Then I have changed the formula to :

Hi @svramkuna,

It looks like you are missing the value part in the expression. I assume that property is in the response of your Send an HTTP request to SharePoint action? If so, please that value part to the expression.

Secondly, what is the name of your action? Make sure it matches the name what you use in the outputs function in your expression.

Or As each list has so many columns can we create all columns in single rest api call in power automate?
