"when a new email arrives to a group" flow triggered itself every minute

Hello

I have a trigger "when a new email arrives to a group" that saves attachments in sharepoint.

today i got a warning off exessive use of Power Automate requests ..

I checked the flows today and saw that one flow with "when a new email arrives to a group" triggered itself every minute without any new email in the group inbox.

Has anyone an idea what could have caused this problem ?

I did set the check interval for new mails to 5 minutes so a new trigger should happen with a time offset of 5mins anyways.

thanks George

In the log select time when the flow shouldn't run and see what email had trigger the flow.

Also I recommend to redesign the flow to get rid of cycles.

I know what Email triggered the flow but it was the Same Mail over and Over Again. 1000 times.

As it should work > a new Mail should trigger the Flow once but it doesnt look like this..

This email has only one recipient or several ones?

The mail had only one but it was moved to the group inbox manualy . > i recieved it and moved it via Outlook into the group inbox of the project

And a strange suggestion, I know, but try to use the old (classic) editor for the flow.

Did you try to send  an email to the group mailbox insted of moving?

I tested the flow by sending a Mail to the group and it worked.

the Problem occured after i moved a Mail manually into the group inbox.

I have another Flow that i have created in the old designer and there it looks like its working.. ( but i must do a test when i move a Mail there Manually )

I've reproduced the issue  - looks like it's just a bug.

In theory we can fix it using a proper trigger condition that will compare current datetime with trigger lastDeliveredDateTime and createdDateTime values.

Great i thought i go stupid by messing um such a simple flow.

is the issue only persistent when moving a mail manual into the group folder or are mails that are sent to the group emails also a problem ? ( if both i probably will stop the active flows to prevent this until i have implemented a solution )

I have set email notifications for those flows so i get verification mails everytime the flow is triggered an not get supprised after the weekend 🙂

I've seen this issue only for emails moved to Inbox of a group mailbox, but not for ones delivered there.

I've found a solution. It's not elegant, but the flow will ignore any email copied/moved to the Inbox of the group mailbox.

Here is a fragment of my flow that demonstrates how segregate delivered emails and copied/moved ones:
