to copy list item attachment to document library folder structure

Below is the list item structure and Target document library details

List1:

Country-single line of Text

Region-Single line of Text

Department -Single line of Text

Customer-Single line of Text

Types-Single line of Text

Date-Date

Country   Region         Department     Customer       Types               Date

USA        Washington   Sharepoint       GSK               pending          13-July-2024-Contains attachment

USA         Los                Analytics         Customer1    underreview     13-April-2024-Contains attachment

UK          London         Sharepoint       Client2           Renewed          13-May-2024-No attachments

Expected output- For example we need to copy files from list which has attachment in my case please refer the above first item where we need to copy list item attachments to document library by creating folder structure based on year\month\country value\region value\department value\customer value\Types values based on list items even for folder structure names which are created dynamically

This one is actually more tedious than hard.

When do you want this to run? Once? Scheduled? Etc Anyway I am going to ignore the schedule and pretend its a manual triggered.

So the most ugg about this is, you should verify that a path doesn't exist, before trying to create it, so based on your

7 layers of folders, you are going to need to do 1 or the other

A) you can create 1 child flow per folder. Then put the proper logic there, and call them. The caller doesn't have to create anything or care if the flow did or didn't create it, just whether it failed.

B) you have to add 7 layers of Conditions which gets ugly. Personally I would do A but thats me and my OCD.

Pre-Steps

Ok this is where I would create a pattern (my self), I would create an Environment Variable, that has the Path in it. The path would be your pattern, and you would hardcode in the path like this

[year]\[month]\country value\region value\department value\customer value\Types

Notice I put [ ] around just year and month

Steps

1. Do a Get Items

2. Add a Condition to verify the length of the body/value is > 0 so you know to even do work

3. in the Yes side of the condition, this is where it gets ugg, add in your Apply to each

4. In the Apply to Each you have to decide if you want separate child to create each part of the path, or just create a very long Condition Chain in this flow

4. Personally I would create separate child flows, but thats just me. So I will instead show you what to do in layered Conditions

4a) Use a Compose to get the Year from your Date field from

4b) Add a GetItems, with an and use the Year and IsFolder = true filter so it only grabs folders

4c) Use a Condition to check if GetItems

4d) check if the GetItems returned your Year or not

If not in the No, create the folder, in the yes do nothing

4e---4XXX

Do the same thing for each Sub Folder, remembering to  check the entire path

So check one was Year

but check two is Year\Month

and so on

When all these are done, you now know if you have the path you need, and you can do whatever you want with the Attachment on the GetItems Row you are on.

NOTE: A little trick I like to use in these situations is that I have a mapping table. I have 2 columns

URL/URI and DoesExist

Then in situations like this, I can query it first, to see if my entire path already exists if so skip all the validations

if not, at the end of the flow, write it in there, so that the next time it will find it and your flow runs much quicker.

If I have helped you, I would really appreciate if you please Mark my answer as Resolved/Answered, and give it a thumbs up, so it can help others

Cheers
