Adding numbers that are in comma separated list contained in one data card

I am having trouble figuring out if it is possible to add numbers/values that are separated by commas together that are in one data card. The box on the left side is the box that the user will use to record counts (ex: 1,2,5,10). This box is set to a text format with default as parent default. The box on the right will be used to sum those values (ex: 1 + 2 + 5...). This box is currently text formatted to a number. I want to be able to have the right box sum the numbers separated by commas in the left box. I keep getting the same error of 'the value 1,2,5,10 cannot be converted to a number'. Is this possible to fix this?

To separate the values so you can add them, you need to apply a Split() function:

   Split(
      DataCardValue97.Text,
      ","
   ),
   Result
)

Right box expression for Text: property may look something like this;

Sum(Split(TextInput1.Text, ","), Result)

Type conversions should be automatic.

Thank you! This worked! Would it be possible to do this all in one box (the data card)? As in when you type 2,3 the box changes to 5. And if you type another number with it as in 5,3 it will update it to 8?

Yes, that's possible, although I would then keep the TextInput and insert a label to show the sum of the input. The Update property of the DataCard then needs to be changed to reference the label instead of the TextInput.
