Allowing Fill-In Choice & Multi-Select in a ComboBox, but Not save the Fill-In Choices to the ComboBox control

Is there a better way to set this up?

I want to be able to allow a combobox to allow multiple selections and a fill-in. However, when another use opens the form, I only want the default choices, and the fill-in to allow them to fill in but the prior fill-in items are NOT saved to the Choices ComboBox, only the default items are available for Example:

Default:
A

B

C

D
other:

Not wanted:

A
B

C

D

Fill-in

Other

Do not want the fill in items from other users.

this is what I want:

Hi @SPS-DEV-22 ,

It's doable. However, could you please explain more on this fill-in scenario? If the custom fill-in text will not save into data source, why is it allowed to be filled in with custom values?

Anyway, you can use an additional Text column to save the custom value.

A) I have the code for the "Other" Choice item.

What I'm trying to do is allow end users to enter an "Other" cause this makes the Choices Selection LONG due to the additional items. I only want the Original Choices to Show up.

As far as Adding another Text Column to hold the "Other" not doable. Requirements are  have the "Other" available and then a person can enter  that, but what they do not want is those to end up being available to choose from.

I have the Multiple Selection figured out, it s the combo of Multiple items and the Other and then the Other not adding to the Dropdown IE : TEST

Hi @SPS-DEV-22 ,

I understand. Please try and modify the Items property of the Combo box:
["A","B","C","D","E","Other"]

so only these 6 selections are available in the Combo box.

Then, it's about how to update the other input value along with selected values. How are you doing it now?

I still need to figure out how to keep the multiple slections made by the end user and when the use "Other" to add it to the selected answer. however I do not want it to be a new choice for the Next end user to pick from.

here is how I'm currently doing the "other" selection choice of the Dropdown(ComboBox)

How do I get the fill-In to work along with keeping the other selected items?

here is how I setup the "Other" Choice:

Hi @SPS-DEV-22 ,

I have a question. If the custom value is filled in, will other default values be selected in the Combo box and also need to update to the list?

I do not want the value that you type when you chose the "Other". it should not be added added to the default choices.

currently it does get added .. and this is not what the requester wants concerning the dropdown (ComboBox)

Just checking in to see if you have any ideas? on how to stop the "other" items being added to the Default Choices for the dropdown(ComboBox)?

Hi @SPS-DEV-22 ,

I still don't understand. You want users to type in custom values, but not save values into data source and display as choices? Then what's the purpose of the enabling custom fill-in feature?

I want only the default choices to be available ONLY. if they fill-in a custom answer that is OK, however, I do not want it to be used as a choice.  I want the Fill-in to be entered into the SharePoint List. but not displayed as a choice.

it is a request by the person who wants the form done. they can do a custom fill-in but not save the answer for future choice use.
