App suddenly requires premium license

Good afternoon,

 

I've been workin on an app for a few months now, but today,

after I published a new version (with no new connectors),

it suddenly says that a premium license is required due to a premium feature contained within the app.

 

It's not the first time this happened to me, but this time the app is too big to simply remake it from scratch.

 

Me and my organization members have office 365 licenses with powerapps.

I'm not using any premium connectors or features that I'm aware of.

 
 

Is there anything I can do about this?

Two suggestions:
Keep pushing Microsoft for an answer on how to solve this or rebuild the Flow from scratch without the CDS connector.

Good afternoon, @mdevaney ,

 

I did as you suggested.

 

But after many escalations and a long time of waiting, I was told that one of my approval driven flows leverages the Common Data Service (which is a premium connector) for no apparent reason.

 

Not even removing every single connection and flow from the app allowed me to run it without a premium license, nor did exporting it and importing again as a new app.

 

At the end I was told that a "workaround" would be to "start a trial if you are at a critical stage in the app development or usage while you secure the necessary resources to start a Premium license", which is not something i can do.

@mdevaney , I'm terribly sorry for the tone,

since you're not working for MS I would say they're missing out on a great employee.

 

as for my problem, I'll try pushing them a bit more as you suggested,

as it would be pretty frustrating to go through all the process of rebuilding it from scratch,

only for this to happen again.

I am having the same issue... I've deleted all the connectors, re-imported the app to no avail.

None of the users of the app can get in. This is causing a bit of havoc.

I'm sad to hear that, in my case, it was was the approvals connector, which seems to standard for good now.

I've had MS support contact me a couple of times that year, but they couldn't simulate my scenario on their side, since they all had premium licenses...

 

It was a long game of sending browser data, and copying the app over and over again, removing the connections and such...

 

And their final statement was: "Seem to be an issue with PowerApps".

Apparently that issue leaves a permanent stain on the app, and no matter how much you strip it off its connections, it won't stop requiring a premium license.

 

Since what was troubling me was the approvals connector, they said i could use the "Send an e-mail with options" connectors in Power Automate.

 

I eventualy gave up.

 

But that was long ago, if you want to give it a shot with the support team, my support ticket number was "

I removed the Premium connection then removed all unused data sources  (three dotes besides Add Data). 

Then Republished. This seemed to work for me.

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!   This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions in the Forums to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
