Assign a temporary value to a specific user based on SP list

I have a task tracker app that I have built that connects to a SharePoint list. The tasks can be assigned to a single person or multiple people. I have a gallery within the power app that is filtered by the status column (Open, Over Due, Closed) and by the user's email that is currently using the app. This status column can only be seen or changed by the admins after all the users within the task have submitted their responses. So the user can only see his/her open, closed, or overdue tasks. I have provided an example of the list at the bottom of this post.

 

My issue is that if User1 submits an update to a "Example Task 1"  and User2 has not submitted their update the that exact same task, how can I filter my gallery to show that User1 has submitted updates to the tasks, but still leave the task as open in User2's gallery view because they has not submitted updates yet. So User1's gallery will show "Example Task 1" as submitted and User2's gallery will show the exact same task as open (Note: The status column will always show open until the admin changes it to closed).

 

As of now I have patched the users that have submitted to a column called "submitted_so_far" (This column allows for multiple users). My initial thought was I would add another filter onto that gallery based on the names in the "submitted_so_far" column. This being said I cannot figure out how to temporary assign User1 the status of submitted based on their name being in that column. Hopefully this makes sense, if not I will answer any questions to the best of my ability.

 

I am really open to any thoughts or ideas on how to build this portion. I cannot really change the Title, Assigned to, or status column of the list, but I can add to the list.

@hitty08 Not sure how you filter looks like but adding the column submitted_so_far to the filter could solve this for you. If you set the users email as variable at the start adding If(submitted_so_far contains varUserEmail then display Submitted, same goes for the gallery if you want the ticket removed from the user who have submitted it then add that to you filter Or If(submitted_so_far contains varUserEmail.

 

Might need to use concat or something to for the submitted_so_far column.

 

@JimmyWorkthis is what I initially thought of doing but I do not have anything called submitted in the drop down box, I am trying to figure out how I can assign those users a temporary value of submitted.

My drop down box that filters my gallery views is based off the status choice column (completed, open, overdue), so I would need to find a way to get submitted into that drop down without actually putting it in the list. For example that status on the list would be open still, but temporary within the app the status would equal submitted if that makes sense.

@hitty08 Can't you use LookUp and lookup the value for the user? trying to understand what you want to do but.

You could assign a temporary value using OnSelect and update a variable if the user = something. 

Step 1. I am trying to compare the current user's e-mail to a person or groups column (submitted so far) that allows for multiple users to be selected.
Step 2. If the current user's e-mail is in that column, I want to assign a temporary value of submitted for just that user. Leaving the value of Open for the other users that are assigned to the task.

My current route I have pulled the users e-,mails from "submitted_so_far" into a collection. No matter how I try to compare the current user to the submitted_so_far column I get table errors.

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!   This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions in the Forums to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
