Assign default value to dropdown list in gallery collections

Hi Team, 

how can i assign a empty value to dropdown list in gallery collection.

i have a add button. so when i click that button i want to add new row in gallery collection. so when new row added , am assigning empty values to labels and inputs. but cont able to assign values to drop down list.  when i assign empty value am getting below error message. my drop down list values are ["","Plan","Design","Dev","Test","Support"]

If you want to add a blank row with blank values, you can either define the whole structure of the record to create, or you can use the Defaults function

Collect(ProjectsvsDev, Defaults(Datasource_name_ProjectsvsDev));

I assumed that Datasource_name_ProjectsvsDev is your datasource name, you will need to change that,

If i use above your suggestion am getting another problem.

here is my problem with above suggestion.

suppose if i use above suggestion and for first row if i select drop down value as plan then when i click new row means second row drop down its automatically selecting as first drop down value.

if i click add row for third row, for third row  drop down value is by default selecting as first row drop down value.

Hmm, no that's not an issue with using Defaults in a Collect action, that sounds like a separate issue with your dropdown default

What is the Default property of the dropdown currently?

Default property for my drop down list is ThisItem.WorkActivityType.Value.

if i keep empty value for default property then am facing another problem. i.e if default property is empty then when am selecting drop down value in first row or second row, after if i change value of another control in that gallery row then this dropdown value is refreshing. the dropdown value is refreshing when other controls values changing.

below is my onchange value of drop down, other controls.

Patch(ProjectvsDev, ThisItem, {WorkActivityType:ddlActivity.SelectedText},{CommentsDevelopers: ProjectActivity1_TextInput.Text},{HoursWorkedDeveloper: Value(TextInput_hr1.Text)})

Ok, but how is it a .value? In your patch it is patching a text item, not a complex field (which is where .value usually comes from), should it not be something like this for your patch, as I imagine workactivitytype is a Choice field yes?

ok, can you provide some screenshots or more context?

Also what is your datasource for the gallery set to?

Data source for gallery is collection. here  am attaching a sample gif image. find it. even after first time selecting value in drop down also refreshing.

it looks like not all of your formula are patching correctly - I have a few questions:

What is the OnSelect of the dropdown?

What is the OnChange of the dropdown?

What is the OnChange of the Hours textinput?
What is the OnChange of the Project activity textinput?

If you could paste all of their code here please, as it seems one of them is not doing as expected
