Caching of data without submitting the data

Hi dears,

is there a possibility to save a Power Apps form without submitting it to the SP list?

I e.g. have a PowerApps form that has to be prepared for a meeting. But when the user submits it a flow is started with several approvals behind. 

So it`d be good to get the form prepared, cache it for some days and then re-open it during the meeting and send it at it`s end.

hey @IvenSch 

the only way to cache data is a collection. The problem with it is, that the collection is only stored for the existing session. So when the session ends, the collection is gone.

you could set up a seperate Draft Sharepoint list where these things are stored besides the "productive list"

Would it be possible to couple the start of the Workflow to a field.

I actually have a submit button with following code:

Patch('Sourcing Board';varFormData;ExecutiveSummaryForm.Updates;SourcingDecisionForm.Updates);;
Notify("Sourcing Board has been submitted successfully");;Navigate('PDF Print')

I also have a field in my app with a Yes/No decision to be made. How could the code extension look like, if I only want to start the Workflow, if 'Yes' is selected.

for that i would use the trigger condition of the workflow in power automate itself. that will make sure the flow only triggers when Field is X/Y set to yes. Which trigger do you use for the flow itself?

Actually none, cause I didn`t start the Flow building 😉

well if you only wanna catch new submissions in your list lets say in sharepoint the trigger "when an item is created" should work fine. in the settings of the trigger put a triggercondition that will only fire the flow when the column New (just an example) is Yes.

the condition will look something like this:

@equals(triggerOutputs()?['body/status'], 'Expired')

please be aware that you need to modify the column here called status and the Expired to your needs
