Can't Add File Column to Form in Dataverse

Hi everyone,

I have created a custom table in Dataverse and added a File column. I have saved and published all customisations. The file column is greyed out in the table.

I went to add the column to the Form for the Table, so I can then use a Model Driven App to add a file upload feature (as featured on Reza's video, here: https://youtu.be/RGJrUkgh_NU?feature=shared&t=149). However, the name of the File field is not showing up as a selectable table column on the left rail when editing the Form.

The table is set up to use attachments. 

I have researched online and other reports of this issue are relating to having to save the record before a file upload is possible, but I can't get to that step: I can't even select the File column to be added to the Form, which is a prerequisite for this to be available in the Model Driven App.

Update: I tried adding another File column in the same table. I got the same result. It is greyed out in the table and is not selectable in the Form view from the left rail. I have attached an image to show the file column and that it's absent from the selectable columns.

Second Update: I have tried accessing the table via a Flow in the same solution and environment. Essentially the same problem: the field representing the File is not appearing in the 'Update a Row' action in Flow. There must be a problem with the column itself which is making it read only (as with the GUID column for example), as it's not showing in any of the places I've looked so far to allow it to be updated.

Any help on this would be much appreciated, thank you!

This is a known issue that according to the last information I got is going to be fixed on the update during this weekend.

As a mitigation you have this plan:

1.     First click on the view when you open the table and add the field to "Show existing column":

2.     After this click on "Update forms and views"

 a) select the required file field column,
 b) and the view and form to be applied,
 c) finally  click "update" to save.

3.    After that, 
a) go to your designer page, and you can see it on the form page with existing "file" data type field.

Thanks @Javier-M-G , tried that and didn't work for me.

Most worrying of all: 

"This is a known issue that according to the last information I got is going to be fixed on the update during this weekend."

I hope this is incorrect; if this issue is truly affecting every customer globally it was reported by us to Microsoft this morning (Wednesday) - it should not take a global giant like Microsoft over 72 hours+ to fix something like this!

Thanks @Hilla , I can confirm this workaround does work; thank you for sharing it.

To confirm for others reading this chain: once the File 'column' is added to the Form (via the workaround noted by Hilla - add the File Column as a new column within the Form editor), Save and Publish, it does appear possible to then revisit the Form and make other changes to the Form and Save and Publish - just do not remove the File column from the Form, otherwise you will not be able to re-add it to the Form.

You can create a model application from the table. Change the view from there and it would affect the Power Pages view too.

Hi @makaveli45 , thanks for your post. This issue has now been fixed by Microsoft and I can confirm in our tenant the issue has been resolved, so normal process can be used/should work as documented.
