Cascading Dropdown with CDS Entity

I'm struggling with the building of cascading dropdowns in my Canvas App. I tried to set it up as described in this video PowerApps Cascading Dropdown - YouTube

It worked out great with some simple test data.

Since I'm using a significantly larger data base it won't work anymore. The dropdowns are missing some values.

As far as I can figure out the problem is that my underlying data which is stored in a CDS Entity has too many rows (~ 2500) since the distinct function only looks at the first 500 entries. I checked some informations regarding delegation within Powerapps but couldn't find a proper solution. Neither increasing the limit for non-delegable queries nor use some static values would help.

Can somebody help me with this problem or is there already a solution I couldn't find?

@Anonymous You can change the Data row limit for non-delegable queries from the advanced settings on PowerApps to 2000. 2000 is the max allowed by PowerApps. For you to pull more than 2000 records i would recommend calling a flow which pulls the records from your PowerApps.

First step would be to increase your data row setting maximum to 2000 but it would be rare that any user would scroll a dropdown for more than 500 items.  That is the limit for dropdowns anyway.  My suggestion would be to prefilter your entities by creating views and use a view instead for the items property of the dropdown.  You could then create different collections for each view and swap them by using a button to create a variable that can be used as the items property of a datatable or gallery. 

Another option would be to use a Combobox instead of a Dropdown control.  These can search massive sized entities.  I have one that searches all 130,000 items in a entity of diagnoses. Comboboxes are more complicated to work with than Dropdowns but once you learn the nuances, they are much more flexible. There are several videos about how to use Comboboxes and they also support Cascading.

To increase the limit for non-delegable queries won't work. I checked the data and some of the values, which I want to access with distinct function, are in row 2001 to 2500.
