Changes made in powerapps seen in Edit mode but not in play mode

Hello Experts, kindly help me out here.

I have an app where one is supposed to sign immediately the page loads.

So I have set the onVisible property of the page to Set(signingVariable, true). This loads the signature screen

After signing, the user presses a button called Save Signature that closes the signature screen and allows one to now enter data.

This btn has an onSelect property of Set(signingVariable, false).

The problem is that this is working fine in edit mode but after saving, publishing and opening the app in Play mode, the Save signature button doesn't work, it just keeps bouncing back and so you can't enter data.

What could be the problem?

Hi @very ,

When you say " signature screen" does that means a pop up control which give the signature option and once signature is done, you want pop up control should not be visible? If that the case then can you confirm the visible property of pop up control? It should be signingVariable

Also, make sure that signingVariable is not set to true on click of save button " Save Signature" or any other place.

I hope this helps.

Hi @ANB ,

Yes, the signature screen is a pop-up and it's onVisible property is indeed signingVariable.

The save signature button sets signingVariable to false and it is unique, it doesn't appear anywhere else.

What baffles me even further is that I have multiple screens in my app(about 10) and in each of them you have to sign. They all have unique variable names but in play mode, they are all not working.

Hi @very ,

Just to try in other way, can you use context variable UpdateContext({var_Signing:true}) and check the behaviors?

Also, check on the screen where the issue occur, search the signingVariable and see where on the screen this variable is declare other than save button. Because I suspect that on same screen there might be possibility that this variable is declared again true. Maybe on onchange property of combo box or some other control.

Global search can help you on this.

Hi @ANB ,

Here is a screenshot from my app

The only place where it appears is in the PlinthChecklist app.

Here is another screenshot of it;

You can see that the variable is set to false onSelect.

I have also tried to use Update Context but it still not working. I don't know why

Hi @very ,

This is strange. As per my understanding somehow signingVariable is becoming true. You need to dig further by doing further troubleshooting it.

Add a label on same screen and text property of it make it signingVariable and then see if the text is becoming true for the label or not. Context variable should resolve the issue.

Ok thank you.

Let me try this and see if it works

Hi @ANB ,

I have figured out a solution that works.

So as long as the screen can be viewed, the onVisible property is true and the signature pop-up will in turn always be true, hence why the button keeps bouncing back.

I have resorted to using a button that when clicked activates the pop-up, and then the user can sign can close the pop-up, which seems to be working.

Thanks all the same for your help.
