Changing selected value in a dropdown list via a toggle

Hi,

I'm currently replacing an infopath form and have hit a roadblock. Whenever you reach a certain part of the form, you can set a field that should reset some of the previous fields.

The fields that need to be changed are four dropdown fields, three choice sharepoint fields and one lookup. I have been attempting to keep the fields within variables. The variables get populated in the onVisible property as well as the onSuccess of the form. Since these are choice fields, the variables are of record type. This means it isn't a simple case of setting the variable to something else. I have been trying to use patch to do this which seems to work for one of the fields but not the others.

This is what I have within the onCheck of the toggle:

Set(varS10or28AHold,varS10or28A);

Set(varS10or28A,Patch(varS10or28A,{Value:"28A"}));

Set(varRecStatusHold,varRecStatus);

Set(varRecStatus,Patch(varRecStatus,{Value:"Draft"}));

Set(varLevelHold,varLevel);

Set(varLevel,Patch(varLevel,{Value:""}));

Set(varFormHold,varForm);

Set(varForm,Patch(varForm,{Value:"28A Learning"}));

In the onUncheck, I set the variables back to the hold variables. Each of the dropdown list field's default are set to the appropriate variable. 

It seems that the first field is updated correctly, however the other fields don't. It also seems to break them. I can select them individually and save the form, however the data doesn't update correctly.

It should be noted that I am also using collections as the items for each dropdown list as the options for each field change depending on the S10 or 28A field. Also, Ideally I would not want to hardcode the values of 'Draft' and '28A Learning', but simply set them to the first item on the list.

Am I doing the right thing by using patch to modify the fields?

I’m not sure what your needs are,but if the number types of these variables are all records, then the role of Patch in your formula is to:

Merge records outside of a data source

I suggest you provide a clearer description of the problem and some screenshots.
