Clear Text from 2nd Screen depending on choice

Hi Team,

I have 2 screen app, on 1st screen I have a form with a dropdown and a textinput field. 

Screen 1:

Drodown1: A,B,C,Other,X,Y,Z

If user selects A,B : Textinput field should not be visible

if user selects Other or Others with A,B.. : Textinput field should be visible

Also, if user adds Other and remove it from the choice, I would like to clear the text entered in textinput field. 

Screen2: On Screen 2, i am editing the info submitted on Screen1, 

I want to apply same logic but when I remove other from the choice column, it is still picking up values in text field which is already stored. 

What;s the best way to achieve this.

I believe its combobox if you can select multiple like "Others" with "A","B"... 

Here's the code:

//TextInput - Visible Property
Dropdown.Selected.Value = "Others" || "Others" in Dropdown.SelectedItems

//TextInput - Clear out Default property

//TextInput - Reset Property
!(Dropdown.Selected.Value = "Others" || "Others" in Dropdown.SelectedItems)

@Ethan_R  has answered the first scenario - the second is quite complex - there is no trigger to detect what has been removed - OnChange only detects what remains after the change, so you would have to play with some Variables set if the value is chosen and then test if it is still there. @Ethan_R  - you might have a go at this.

Screen 1 works fine, 

I am able to clear the text in textinput when others is not selected in my combobox1

Default property of textinput: If(DataCardValue10.Selected.Value <> "Other" || "Other" in DataCardValue10.SelectedItems,"")

On Screen 2, I am having issue getting it reset or cleared. [ edit form is picking value matching the ID]

For ex, my manager wants to edit the form on screen 2, and wants to remove "other" from combobox, it should clear the text in textinput

When I remove other from the combobox, textinput field gets cleared but it's not allowing me to submit the form because textinput field is required when "Other" is selected or "other" is in selecteditems of combobox

So, Data is filled and submitted from Screen 1 then moved to Screen 2? Or is it unsaved and proceeded further?

How is the process happening?

Can you explain both screens action based on saved/unsaved data?

As @WarrenBelz  said, for making items change you need to try and check using Global variables using Set() formula.

Note: If you screen is in memory then that action will can run as expected.

Do try the same logic

Create a variable that is set to False when Dropdown contains Other

When you want to remove the Other then set variable to => True and then => False again

//Make sure you set this variable on Reset of Textbox

This will reset the textbox.

Sorry for not explaining. 

Screen 1 data is saved into sharepoint list and then we goto 2nd screen for approval of the submitted form

Alright @itzRobin ,

Once data is saved on Screen 1, even if control is changed or set back to Blank won't affect the data in SP. 

To ensure the Data that is edited by the Approver on the Approval Screen (Screen 2) 

You must write a Patch as:

Patch(
   SPList,
   <Mention your entire Data not just ID>,
   {
       Dropdown: Blank(),
       TextField: Blank()
   }
)

Note: You can use Lookup to get complete Record or similar depending on how you made the app.

Also: As process is followed, ideally Approver should provide comments if things are needed to be changed, but if your Approver takes action on some item then above code will do the job.
