Hi All,

I am trying to insert a combo box so user may search a list of items in a data source and select them.

The list is 150+ item and will grow in time.

See attachements for settings

The issue was there was a blank line in the top of the data.

In the standard drop down I put a blank line in as it picks up the first row of data and I didn't want that showing.

With the combo box you musn't need the blank line as it gives you the search function.

Once I took the blank line away the data showed up.

The value for the Items property doesn't seem right because it is called "Items" unless you are using a collection and you called it Items. The Items property should contain the source of data from which selections can be made.

Hi @Jeff_Thorpe,

Yes the data table is called "Items". The column within the data table being referenced is "Item Name"

I just also tried it on another table that I have within my app that I know works in another field and it didn't wotk on that either.

I just noticed in the first screen shot that the empty drop down may not actually be empty. If you look closely at it you notice there is a small scroll bar indicating that there is lot of entries in the drop down. Have you tried scrolling way down on the drop down to see if it displays any texts. It is possible that a bunch of blank rows are being pulled in and that is why it looks empty when you first click on the drop down.

Hi @Jeff_Thorpe,

It's not picking up any values at all.

It recognises that there is 150 odd lines within the table, but it doesn't pick up the values.

I patched the combobox to the write table, but it only displays "text, text, text, " when you write.

Like I said, I have tried with with new tables, the tables I am using in the app. Large tables (150 lines), small tables (4 lines), text, values and nothing is working.
