ComboBox doesn't save selected item sharepoint list

Hello People!

I'm new on powerapps, I'm working with basic sharepoint list for a company project.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't save the value selected in a combobox.

This is the situation:

List "buscar" contains a lookup field called "lukop" pointing to the colum 'infolease' in the list "concesionarios"

I inserted the combobox control in the "buscar" SPList inside the "lukop" datacard and set combobox.Items = concesionarios.infolease. Meanwhile I set lukop_datacard1.update = ComboBox2.Selected

1.JPG2.JPG

I saved and published, when I use the combo to add a new item it works but it doesn't store the value, when I edit it doesn't stores it either.

What am I missing?

My understanding of your issue is you have a lookup type column in your form that won't submit properly to the form.  The lookup column should display a field called infolease from another SharePoint list calledconcesionarios but should still write the unique ID for lukop in the SharePoint list buscar.

Put the following code in each property of your ComboBox for lokup

DisplayFields: ["infolease"]
SearchFields: ["infolease"]
Items: concesionarios
DefaultSelectedItems: LookUp(concesionarios,ID=Value(ThisItem.lukop.Value))

Then put this code in the Update property of the Card for lokup.

{
    '@odata.type':"#Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.SharePoint.SPListExpandedReference",
     Id:Text(ComboBox_lokup.Selected.ID,"[$-en-US]0"),
     Value:ComboBox_lokup.Selected.ID
}

I've fully tested this code in an app so it has a good chance of working.

Hi @miquilenadiego ,

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?

Do you mean that the ComboBox selected value could not be save back to your "buscar" list?

Based on the formula that you mentioned, I think there is something wrong with it. I have made a test on my side, please consider take a try with the following workaround:

Set the Update property of the lukop Data card in your Edit form to following (If the lukop field is a LookUp type column in your "buscar" list) :

{
  Id: LookUp(concesionarios, infolease = ComboBox2.Selected.infolease, ID),
  Value: ComboBox2.Selected.infolease
}

Set the DefaultSelectedItems property of the ComboBox (ComboBox2)to following:

{
  infolease: ThisItem.lukop.Value
}

If the lukop field is actually a normal Text type column in your "buscar" list, please set the Update property of the lukop Data card in your Edit form to following:

ComboBox2.Selected.infolease

Set the DefaultSelectedItems property of the ComboBox (ComboBox2)to following:

{
  infolease: ThisItem.lukop
}

Please consider take a try with above solution, then check if the issue is solved.

What did you set the UPDATE property of the Lukop Card to?

Hi @mdevaney

Yes, I did it, sorry I forgot to write that in the original post, i already updated it but here you can see that I set the update property of the lukop datacard equals to ComboBox2.Selected

@mdevaney
I set it to ComboBox2.Selected
It should work, I don't know what happens

@miquilenadiego

I was just in the middle of writing you a response.  I'll be done in about 5 minutes.  Did some tests and figured it out.

Hi @mdevaney Thank you for your help!

Yes, you can see it here

Here I created a new record and chose a value in the "lukop" colum which is a lookup field pointing to "infolease" column in the sharepoint list called concesionarios. Infolease is a single text field

5.JPG

When I save the form, it doesn't store the value that I chose before. If I edit the record and choose a value for lukop field and then I save, it does the same.

6.JPG

By the way I set the property SelectMultiple false because i just want the user to select one value from the list

Put the following code in each property of your ComboBox for lokup

DisplayFields: ["infolease"]
SearchFields: ["infolease"]

I tried this, but it didn't work 😢 the update property of Card for lukop shows 2 errors,

I changed the combobox name for my combobox which is "combobox2"

Hi @v-xida-msft Thank for your answer

I have a sharepoint list called "buscar", it contains a lookup type column (called lukop) that don't submit properly to the form. The "lukop" column should display a field called infolease from another SharePoint list called concesionarios  (it does) and submit it when I save the new record (it doesn't do this).

You can see what I describe here:

I tried everything exactly as you said but it doesn't work  😢 I feel stupid with this.

This is the error from Update property

And these are the errors showed in the DefaultSelectedItems

I have a question based on your post, whics is better? Create a "lukop" as a lookup field in the list or as a Single text and perform the lookup search with the Combobox in powerapps?

Thank you

Hello people! can somebody help me ? i've tried everything but nothing works 😥
