Hello,
Kind of frustrated here.
Is it possible to write to a Summary field all items that were ordered from the Office Supply Products list to the Office Supply Orders list.
This is the list showing the summary field.
I have an "Place Order" button that uses the below logic
Set(
varShowSpinner,
true
);
Set(
varRecordID,
Patch(
'Company Store Orders',
Defaults('Company Store Orders'),
{
'Order Total': With(
{
ST: Sum(
colShoppingCart,
SubTotal
)
},
ST + ST * .06 + 4.99
),
'Order Comments': txtComments.Text,
Title: txtName.Text
}
).ID
);
ClearCollect(
colOrderedItems,
AddColumns(
colShoppingCart,
"OrderID",
varRecordID
)
);
Collect(
'Company Store Orderd Products',
colOrderedItems
);
Navigate('SN Office Supply Orders Screen');
Set(
varShowSpinner,
false
);
Can I modify this to do what I want
Solved! Go to Solution.
Ok, I have tried everything I know but as someone who is still learning Power Apps and expecially Galleries and how they function with collections, I was not able to figure out how to use what you gave me.
It made me think that I needed to loop through my Shopping Cart Cllection and make sure the ID for both the Shopping Cart and the Office Supply Orders matched.
I could have been making this more difficult than it was.
Hi @golfnutt82 ,
No problem, if you can pass me the full formula in text I can review that and make corrections if needed.
Ok, thanks for helping out.
I really need to learn how the gallery and collections work.
I have an arrow button that is visible for each item in my Shopping Cart if the slider for that item is greater than zero. When I click the arrow it passes the values to the collection.
Here is the Shopping Cart collection
Collect(
colShoppingCart,
{
Title: ThisItem.Title,
SKU: ThisItem.SKU,
AltSKU: ThisItem.'Alt SKU',
ProductID: ThisItem.ID,
Description: ThisItem.Description,
QTY: SliderQTY.Value,
Subtotal: SliderQTY.Value
}
);
Reset(SliderQTY);
Set(
varShowSuccess,
true
)
Here is the formula for the Place Order button where I want to patch the Office Suppy Orders list "Order Summary" Field with the concatinated data.
Set(
varShowSpinner,
true
);
Set(
varRecordID,
Patch(
'Company Store Orders',
Defaults('Company Store Orders'),
{
'Order Total': With( {ST: Sum( colShoppingCart, SubTotal )},
ST + ST * .06 + 4.99
),
'Order Comments': txtComments.Text,
Title: txtName.Text
}
).ID
);
ClearCollect(
colOrderedItems,
AddColumns(
colShoppingCart,
"OrderID",
varRecordID
)
);
Collect(
'Company Store Orderd Products',
colOrderedItems
);
Navigate('SN Office Supply Orders Screen');
Set(
varShowSpinner,
false
);
Hi @golfnutt82 ,
I think this should do the trick:
Set(
varShowSpinner,
true
);
Set(
varRecordID,
Patch(
'Company Store Orders',
Defaults('Company Store Orders'),
{
'Order Total': With( {ST: Sum( colShoppingCart, SubTotal )}, ST + ST * .06 + 4.99),
'Order Comments': txtComments.Text,
Title: txtName.Text,
'Order Summary': ConCat(
colShoppingCart,
$"ID: {ProductID} - Title: {Title} - Quantity: {QTY}",
Char(13)
)}
).ID
);
ClearCollect(
colOrderedItems,
AddColumns(
colShoppingCart,
"OrderID",
varRecordID
)
);
Collect(
'Company Store Orderd Products',
colOrderedItems
);
Navigate('SN Office Supply Orders Screen');
Set(
varShowSpinner,
false
);
I have inserted the 'Order Summary' column in the Patch. Instead of using colOrderedItems, I used colShoppingCart as that seemed more appropriate.
Ps. Not sure what you're trying to do with the collections below the Patch (colOrderedItems and 'Company Store Ordered Products'), but there seems to be some redundancy in your app. Perhaps something to look into in a different topic.
Hi BC,
Thank you for this.
I thought I needed to patch a separate list (Company Store Ordered Products).
If there is a way pass the order to the Company Store Orders list vs writing to the Company Store Ordered Products list then that would be great. Also, because I am not using any math to calc the number of items with a dollar figure, I dont think the subtotal is needed.
Hi @golfnutt82 ,
If you don't need to store the subtotal, you can simply remove it from the Patch.
To save the contents of the colOrderedItems collection in the 'Company Store Ordered Products' list, use a Patch function instead of a Collect function.
Collections are only used in an app session so whenever the user closes the app it will be gone unless you save it with, for instance, a Patch function.
Set(
varShowSpinner,
true
);
Set(
varRecordID,
Patch(
'Company Store Orders',
Defaults('Company Store Orders'),
{
'Order Comments': txtComments.Text,
Title: txtName.Text,
'Order Summary': Concat(
colShoppingCart,
$"ID: {ProductID} - Title: {Title} - Quantity: {QTY}",
Char(13)
)}
).ID
);
ClearCollect(
colOrderedItems,
AddColumns(
colShoppingCart,
"OrderID",
varRecordID
)
);
Patch(
'Company Store Orderd Products',
colOrderedItems
);
Navigate('SN Office Supply Orders Screen');
Set(
varShowSpinner,
false
);
Youve been a huge help BC!
Thank you!
Hello BC,
Im sure I am not doing something correctly.
field_3 is the SharePoint list qualified field name, which has been renamed to Employee Email.
field_4 is the SharePoint list qualified field name, which has been renamed to Order Summary.
field_6 is the SharePoint list qualified field name, which has been renamed to Notes.
Ok, I think I need to simplify this.
Here is the list of items that can be chosen and placed in the shopping cart.
Above is a list of available items to chose from.
When the items are chosen and the "+" sign is selected thus putting the item into the colShoppingCart.
Here is the code for that:
Collect(
colShoppingCart,
{
Title: ThisItem.Title,
SKU: ThisItem.SKU,
AltSKU: ThisItem.'Alt SKU',
ProductID: ThisItem.ID,
Description: ThisItem.Description,
QTY: SliderQTY.Value,
Subtotal: SliderQTY.Value
}
);
Reset(SliderQTY);
Set(
varShowSuccess,
true
)
When I attempt to use your code:
I get the below error.
Im sure I am doing something wrong.
Hi @golfnutt82 ,
My fault, I left a typo in there: ConCat where it should be Concat. I have updated the post that is marked as the solution.
YES, we are closer!
Any idea why the ID isnt being picked up?
The output of colOrderedItems is.
