Connecting to a new data source (gemini)

I was just wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to connect to Gemini or not? The data source is by countersoft. It may not be a common data source. I tried to post a link last time but I think it caused my post to be marked as spam. If you search up "countersofy gemini tracker", you should be able to find it. 

I want to connect to the data source, but I can't seem to find any resources, so I'm wondering if it's even possible. I have some data logged on there. 

What would the process look like for trying to connect to an entirely new data source like Gemini? Or is powerapps limited to the data sources it recommends?

Gemini appear to have a REST based API.

Therefore, one way to connect to Gemini is to create a custom connector that calls the API. From your app, you would then connect to Gemini through your custom connector.

Thanks @timl Looks like it might be possible after all, I'm glad to hear this. 

I see. I looked through the guide and I'm stuck at "update general details". It seems I need the "address for the Text analytics API", but I can't seem to find it. Is this link specific to my Gemini source or is it general for all of gemini ? Is the Base URL also necessary? 

I'll ask their support team for help as well.

The documentation on custom connectors uses the 'Cognitive Services Text Analytics API' to demonstrate how to connect to a data source that isn't natively supported. Therefore, you would substitute all occurrences of 'Cognitive Services Text Analytics API' in the documentation with 'Gemini API'. You can most likely keep the Base URL setting of "/", but this would depend on the address of your Gemini endpoint.

If your Gemini server is an on-premise installation that's installed on a local network/intranet, you would need to connect via an on-premises data gateway (which the documentation describes in the same "Update general details" section that you mentioned).

I had a few more questions. I'll try to make this the last post. 

Can host just be ongemini.com? Or does it have to include api in the URL? I can't seem to find it on the gemini site. 

For step 2 (security), what is parameter label and name? I'm assuming location is used later on in step 4 and doesn't matter much, but I don't understand why we have both a label and a name. Does it matter what we type in these fields ?

Finally, in the last step, when I click on "import from sample", for the URL box, should I just put in the URL that has the data table.  I'm also not sure if I should put something into Headers

Where does the API key fit in all of this? I have my API key from gemini, but I don't know which box to type it into? I thought it'd be in either security or in the test steps.
