Dear Team, @WarrenBelz and others
Subject:
I need to add new record to sharepoint list, and it should be unique., multiple users can access the same sharepoint list from powerapps, either from mobile or from desktop/laptop.
My question is:
How do I generate a unique id for each record, in the given situation.
Context: I have two share point lists, namely, First and Second, also, i have designed two power apps screens called First and Second. The second list has some fields that are already in First Sharepoint list, and also additional fields and the lists are mapped onto screens respectively.
I need to update the first list, which creates a unique id. Now, I need to use the same unique id to update records in the second list.
so, I picked up the native Row ID of Sharepoint, with LASTSUMBIT f() from Powerapps, put it in the first screen and saved the record, this is not working when multiple users are updating.
Request: Can someone please help with a possible solution.
With regards
Repath Athyala.

@WarrenBelz , I have used time in micro-seconds to create new and unique record as it is urgent, by getting help from other posts.
the following is the code used: Set(varRecID, "a"); UpdateContext({varRecID: Text(Now(), "[$-en-US]hhmmss-fff")});, I believe, this should be ideal, as I tried some other options but failed grossly.
I dont know, how far will this be able to generate unique numbers but atleast the probability of getting a duplicate is very low is what I believe...!!
I dont know, if I can mark my solution as answer or not... as I think, it is not fair, to post a question and post its answer as well.

Apart from the unique ID do the two list have any column in common?

Yes, there are five more columns in common.,
I wanted to know if there is same column between the two tables. That is for example ColumnA in both Tables.

Yes, both the lists in sharepoint namely First (the list name itself is First) and the Second has four columns in common

@Riphath ,
My post is one answer to your question (and one I use) and your solution is another. I actually use something similar for unique file names.
The purpose of marking solutions is about prioritizing searches (Google/Bing) on the same question and asking yourself if another user asked the same question, would this answer be suitable. Totally up to you.
Thank you very much, you are very helpful, even in the previous instance. the previous one was on my neck... 😊 actually...
with thanks and regards
Repath Athyala.
Just in case anyone else has this issue, according to

"The PowerApps LatSubmit() is a property of the Edit Form. It can not communicate with the data source and therefore it is not affected by when multiple users submit nearly simultaneously."
