Data Table/ Gallery can you take a single line selection to sharepoint

Hi

I'm new to Power Apps and had a question I'm hoping you can help with,  I  have created a data table in my canvas app from an excel sheet of Cost centres I have .  I wondered how I would go about when the user in the app makes a single selection of a cost centre from the table,  how I would go about exporting that single selection answer and add it to my current record in my share point list.

Hi @vbirnie 

Firstly, the data table has no OnSelect property so I suggest you use a gallery instead.

In the gallery, you can use the OnSelect property to patch the selected record.

Something like:

Patch(YourSharePointList,Defaults(YourSharePointList),
{
Field1: Gallery1.Selected.Field1,
Field2: Gallery1.Selected.Field2
}
)

So whenever you select something inside a gallery, it will create a new record in your SharePoint list.

Have you solved your problem?

Could you please tell me that if the SP list and the Excel table share the same ID or is there anything primary column between them?

Do you want to patch the answer from the DataTable selected record to the record that shares the same ID with the record existing in the Excel table?

@Adrian_Celis is right that the DataTable does not have the OnSelect property, We suggest you use a Gallery instead.

I assume that the SP list and the Excel table share the same ID.

Add a Gallery and set the OnSelect of the Gallery as below:

Patch(SPListName,LookUp(SPListName,ID=Gallery1.Selected.ID),{Answer:Gallery1.Selected.Answer})

Thanks for getting back to me, My SP List is a blank table in which I wish to put all my app answers into the correct corresponding column in this case my  selected answer from my gallery which will be a cost centre in to the corresponding headed column cost centre in my blank SP list.  

My gallery information I am pulling in to get my users to select is form an excel spreadsheet I have on sharepoint it is a list of cost centre and descriptions but is a separate document to my SP list

I wish to patch my selected gallery answers to my SP list, I still cant seem to get it to work trying the above.
